I have full faith in Miles if it is going down to tell his players that it's time and that they play for LSU and not a single man. No matter who's the coach they are LSU Tigers. I'm sure they'll want to show support and have his back but if there is a coach that could give a wonderful talk to his players and make them ok with all of this its Les.

you know he meets with the players everyday at 2pm right?

"No film from Saturday. It's thrown out."

"Specialists, you'll be in here with Peve. Everyone else break for position meetings. Walk thru is at 3."

that will be what is said.

Miles stated explicitly that he is going to be meeting with the team today to discuss his future at LSU.

Yeah he stated that to the media and the fans, people who don't matter inside that building.

This whole affair has been a boondoggle for over a week.. We should be looking at Alleva in the same light of confusion and execution as we have this team over recent weeks.. This is heading towards a case study in how not to breakaway from a coach with this much success and historical relevance at a major program.

True but as a player wouldn't you be awfully confused if you hear this report then it doesn't come up this afternoon?

I will be legitimately depressed if he's fired.

If he chooses to hang it up, great. But fired? After all this?

Feels bad, man.

It's funny that you are still in denial about this.

If he was fired Alleva would hold a presser after miles addresses the team.

That is not what he said. He said he would address the noise, but not that it was a meeting specific to that. They meet every Monday, but typically he doesn't have to discuss media reports.

No way he flat out retires. That means he would be walking away from the rest of his contract. There has to be a settlement in the works to where both sides are satisfied as much as possible. I, too, hate to see CLM outright fired, as he's done a lot for this program & has earned the respect of all his peers. What I see eventually happening for him down the road, re his legacy, is what has happened with Daddy Dale. He was practically run out of the program he built & was universally disliked by the fans, but as the years have gone by, the respect for what he did is finally coming out & he's now a fan favorite. But reducing CLM to a lame duck HC through next year will hurt recruiting & not do much for all his assistants who will know that they are out of work after one more yr.

Same here. I truly believed he's acknowledged his failures and meddling in the offense. Maybe I'm just retarded for thinking he deserves another year considering his acknowledgement.

@LSUBonnette: @JimKleinpeter Coach Miles has a team meeting with his players every Monday at 3 p.m. This is not unusual. This is how they start the week.

Why would you need a special meeting to say "business as usual?"

As a player that would make me even more suspicious.

Have you not figured out by now the a "journalist" called this a "special meeting" to create a clickable headline? There is no special meeting.

Scroll up and see Bonnette's tweet.
