Here's how I can best characterize Miles as a coach. He had the better talent than any opponent and knew it. Therefore he constantly played not to lose. That's what was so frustrating.

Let’s also be fair.

Miles after 2011 was not the same Miles

Ed after 2019 was not the same Ed

However, Miles took a dip after 2011. Ed fell off a cliff after 2019. There’s no comparison and no argument against the fact that Miles was a BETTER overall coach than Ed. But neither was very good tbh.

People always say “LSU 2019 was an all star team”. In reality if you follow LSU you know the talent in 2019 wasn’t much different than what we’ve had on previous teams. Obviously not tGoat team loaded but we’ve had championship caliber rosters numerous times and never got close.

Dude, the last time we had a wr corp like 2019 was never. 2013 was the closest thing I guess and it wasn’t nearly that good. Also didn’t have the best QB in college football history in 2013.

We also had an insanely good RB and pretty good TE. That was almost an nfl offense.

2015 and 2016 had pretty good WR talent. Obviously had loaded RB talent also. Just plug a competent QB and offensive scheme on those teams and they’re easily in ATL.

We had Alabama by the nuts first half of 2015 and late into the fourth 2016. A QB gets us over the hump there.

We had talent yes. We did not have 2019 talent.

This isn't true. The 2000s was the golden age of the SEC. A new and different SEC team was contending and/or playing for the ship almost every year. The SEC East was also not so top heavy with Tennessee and South Carolina being very good along with Florida and Georgia being who they normal are. Your post would suggest Miles was bringing in the #1 recruiting class each year which wasn't the case.

Les Miles as our coach was mostly miserable. He made LSU football not fun to watch. He talked down to and disrespected the fanbase & media with his gibberish. I hope creepy Les is very unhappy, even with all his money. Very glad he got cancelled.

This isn't true.
LSU had the better talent than any team it played. It's why Miles is lauded as such a great recruiter.

Well, if he was such a great recruiter why did he win just 3 games in two years at Kansas?

Kansas exposed Miles' inabilities as a head coach and recruiter.

Do you always live your life in such extremes? Why do you keep comparing LSU to Kansas football? You are making it sound like Kansas was some power house with a ton of talent that routinely brings in top recruiting classes and Miles brought that to a screeching hault. Nobody can recruit players to Kansas and nobody wins football games at Kansas.

Les Miles was a good recruiter because he brought in top 10 recruiting classes year after year...at LSU...Not Kansas...LSU. The fact that he didn't at Kansas does not take away from the fact that he did at LSU. But, he did not bring in the number one class every year so it goes back to my point, his team was not the most talented team on the field every game he coached.

.yeah it's not like he had one of the best winning % in sec history, most top 5,most top 10, most top 15, most top 20, most top 25 finishes in lsu history, won more games against ranked team during his tenure, had as many top 5 finishes as saban , deitzel and Mac combined.

In 11 years we 2 sec titles, 3 west titles, 1 NC, 2 title game appearances, more top 5 finishes than the previous 40 years of lsu football combined. If his tenure was miserable, I'd love to know what you call the previous years before him.

According to LSU.net 2009 is only #1 composite

I think Miles still owns best win % since facemasks, and amazingly still litters the LSU Media guide offensive record book even after the change to spread concepts he resisted to the end.

We had less players get into academic trouble under Les than previously. That's what I've got. He won a NC with a significant bulk of the players having been recruited by Saban.

2011 regular season was amazing until that dreaded night in January.

I was really frustrated with Les at the end of his career at LSU. I thought he became very predictable and was too conservative. But Les Miles did a lot of good things at LSU.

He was a great recruiter, he had some really good staff hires, and he won a ton of games.

The problem was that he was not a good game coach and he refused to allow his coaches to manage their respective disciplines.

Of course, we found out some things after he left, but one cannot really argue with his results when he coached at LSU.

Sure, Les Miles was pretty good all around. However, he turned the program into one like Wisconsin, which, oddly enough, we ended losing to towards the end of his tenure.

And the Wisconsin reference isn't just limited to the two teams offensive style of play. The reference is more geared towards Wisconsin, like a LSU-Miles team, wins a lot of games (9+) on an annual basis. Yet, when they play an "elite team" or get in the Big Ten Championship (Ohio State), they lose more times than not.

He couldn’t think on his feet. Could prepare for a game but incapable of making in game adjustments and smart decisions with clock management.

I feel like Jarrett Lee had some good mechanics and showed some promise. Maybe could have been more with a better offense, coach, and system.

But honestly, I could say that about most of Miles’ QBs. Etlng was not elite at all, but losing Miles put him in the NFL.

Les miles was a shite manager, coach, and human being. That dude wasted more talent than any coach In history. The fact that we had half the fan base beg for this dude to stay in 2015 is embarrassing.
