re: Les Miles vs. Nick Saban

Nick Saban came to Baton Rouge when LSU was a mediocre program in the nation, and he has turned the program around in just three years.
________________
Uh, Saban's record was 8-5 his third year. Included in that record was a 31-0 loss to Alabama at Tiger Stadium.
_________________
However, Les Miles inherited Nick Saban's team and had the team going at 8-5 record last year (downhill).

Not every year will be good (see above). Last year we ran into the perfect storm of having to play inexperienced QBs (which was not Miles' fault) and not having a proper scheme on defense (which was). However, I think one problem fed the other and led to the snowball. The bowl game makes me think we will recover from that.
_____________
At Bama, Nick Saban is god because he turned the program around in just two years, beating Les Miles and his LSU team - a defending NC- at their house.
_____________
Saban had a good year last year with a very experienced team. He will not be able to repeat that success this year for many of the same reasons LSU was down last year. This is not a Saban's recruits/Shula's recruits thing, it is a simple truth that sometimes you are stuck with personnel that simply need more time to be ready or simply do not live up to their Rivals H.S. hype.
______________
I know many of you will think this is Germans, but this is the truth. LSU's records would have been better if we still had Saban here.
______________
In four years we have done the following
Won 2 western division crowns
A sugar bowl,
An SEC Championship,
A NC,
have a record of 41-11
Been ranked in the top 5 3 of 4 seasons.
I think that's pretty damn good, don't you?

I believe everyone just feels Miles has earned the right to have everyone back off his nuts just a little bit.

Miles is a players coach, I respect that, Saban not so much, that's why some players didn't like him, he gets after you, they have diff styles, to each their own, I never said anything about not liking Miles, just don't care for the bashing of Saban because he signed with Bama, that is all this is really about.

Well, then I guess there is no more to argue about as i don't hate saban, and certainly respect him as a coach. I just get tired of the ridiculous pining for saban with zero appreciation for miles.

Face it, ya paid 4 million for a retard. After another 8-5 season LSU fans will be calling for his head. Face it ya fell arse backwards into a NC game with losses to Kentucky and Arkansas at Home....and beat up an overated Big Ten Ohio State team. Your other so called great Sugar Bowl win was beating up an overated Notre Dame team...

Witht the talent you had last year, I could have stuck a headset one of my turds and coached you to a better record. Ya can't fix stupid and Les has proven that. In 2014 do you know what "Lesticles" will be doing? The same thing Larry Coker is, nothing.

How do you know??? No one can answer this question except God.
LM only lost 6 games total in his first 3-year at LSU. Let's see if NS can do that in Alabama for the next 2 years.

wow, bama, you are a complete idiot! At least after we lost the sec championship game a few years ago, we didn't let it ruin our whole season by losing to miami in the bowl game. But you, what did ya'll do? Ya'll got beat like hawaii from a year ago. I really don't understnad what good point you could make, your team lost to ULM AT HOME!!!!!! 2 years ago. So you had 1 good season, just wait till next year, it will all come full circle and then your coach will be the one on the hotseat. Coaches don't get fired after having 1 mediocre year when they have won at least 11 games the previous 3 years and a national championship, but then again, you probably weren't alive the last time your team won one, so i can't expect you to know how it feels

The JL vs JJ thread is much much longer, by years. Same conversation, just different names.
