Les Miles - C - Tigers
According to USA Today's Dan Wolken, Kansas Athletic Director Jeff Long has already done leg work in filling it's 2019 head coach vacancy, and former LSU HC Les Miles "would not be a surprise" if he was named Kanas head coach.

Long announced that current HC David Beaty has been fired, but they will finish the 2018 season together with just three games left, but that hasn't stopped Long from looking at replacements already. Miles, who apparently has given up on his short lived acting career (please read the last Miles blurb if you aren't aware), would be a strange hire that would draw similarities to the failed Charlie Weis experiment. In his career at LSU, Miles went 62-28 in SEC games, but he is turning 65 years old next week, hasn't coached since 2016, and the SEC and Big 12 couldn't be more different stylistically. Long and Miles have crossed paths before in the SEC, so this report can't be discounted.

I have a friend with connections at the University of Kansas. He said this exact thing last night. Although that rumor isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. And it’s not even On paper, it’s on Tigerdroppings. :)

i don't think you appreciate how far behind the rest of the football world Kansas is. they are located in a recruiting wasteland, have poor facilities, no tradition of success and face an impossible (for their situation) schedule every year. what makes you think a 65 yr old miles would be a success there?

Les made a living at LSU over the fact that in most games, his players were just flat better than his opponent's.

That dude would fail so fricking spectacularly if he was somewhere where the opposite was true.

Really like Les and think he should just keep enjoying life. He has nothing left to accomplish given that he’s had more success than 99% of the other guys who have ever done his job. That said, if he wants to coach again, I wish him the best. Just hope he lands at a program with a pulse. Why waste time you could be spending with your kids and future grand kids trying to resurrect Kansas? Maybe Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Pitt, K- State, Maryland, Cal, or Colorado .

I would be happy. I live in Lawrence and would finally go to a KU game because of it. Les would at least bring toughness to that team.

Good. That would be good for everyone. Would like to see Les back coaching at a low stress position. He would be good for a few upset wins for them.

So does that mean LSU wouldn’t have to pay CLM anymore if he takes the Kansas job?
