I have done this numerous times. Old man problems, in my case.

This is LSU win and Miles accepting a position inferior to his coaching ability in a place he will never succeed. He could have gone to Ole Miss after next year or even Purdue after next week. Cannot believe he is taking this job.

Low expectations, as long as basketball is winning nobody cares. He's a name and will get some recruits they wouldn't otherwise get. He can get them to the upper half of the B12 and they would be ecstatic. If he can compete for a conference title once in a while he would be a god.

If K State could put together a competitive program, absolutely no reason why Kansas can't.

Maybe Miles just wants the challenge?

Maybe they're going to pay him enough money to make it more attractive than the other potential jobs.

Happy for Les, but why would anyone want to coach football at Kansas? I suppose they can go nowhere but up?

I agree to a point but if he can get Kansas to a .500 record for several years, they'll put a statue of him up on campus.

Caldwell-Fargas raise and extension

Letting rumors swirl for a month about your football HC and allowing him to be carried off the field in his "final game" only to 20 minutes later triumphantly declare him the HC for next season

Hiring Johnny Jones...who was a candidate for exactly ZERO power conf. jobs outside of LSU

Rushing to the podium before the football season had ended to lock down Orgeron...a guy who (like Jones) had exactly ZERO demand as a HC outside of LSU.

Alleva is a buffoon. There is no level of stupidity I'm not confident he can reach

To each their own I guess...doesn’t seem like a wonderful legacy or anything.

Same here. Always loved me some Les. He was a great ambassador for our school

Anyone know what his salary there will be?

ok, great!

in 2019, what will be the greater odds?

Kansas wins a conference title or LSU beats Bama?

Les might see this as a great challenge. Some people are motivated that way.

I was tired of him at LSU the last couple of years but he is good for college football. He always was an excellent recruiter, he is going to really need that ability going forward at Kansas...

Are you sure about that? I was here in the KC area when Mangino had that team playing extremely well (for their conference). My guess is that he could get Kansas competitive in the Big12 again - that, and he's already familiar with the conference (seeing as how LSU poached him from Okie State).

I think he can be successful at KU (not SEC-level successful, but successful nonetheless....)

Man, I’m happy for him. That slime Alleva firing him will go down as one of the worst decisions in CFB history.

Gonna have to buy a Kansas hat now.

yea, let's relax a bit. Les underachieved his last 3+ years. It was time for him to go.
