I really do think that.
I appreciate the debate though you handle your point pretty well...I just don't agree with you.
Oh well.

you can certainly turn anything i say into "well sorry you don't expect excellence from your program"
Anyone wanting "excellence" from LSU football, should be damn happy with the 115-30 record, 2nd best in all of BCS football, since 02, the 85-21 record, 1st in all BCS football, since 05, and the 34-6 record, 4th best, since 2010.
We/LSU can always be better, but anyone pissing on the LSU program like a jilted lover on a continual basis, its players, or coaching staffs in the past decade is college/SEC football mentally challenged. imo

This became an IM thread when Tigerlee started to ignore anyone except Godfather.
Why other people (including myself right now) are posting in this thread is beyond me.

Les is to be blamed for pretty much everything that George W. Bush can't be blamed for. Between them, nothing bad has happened on the last 12 years that wasn't their fault.

You and others on here seem to have forgotten what it was like when you played in football games or participated in other sports.
EVERY player, in EVERY sport, at EVERY level...TAKES GAMES AND PLAYS OFF!
As a player and a human being, you can not be expected to have the same level of adrenaline playing UTEP that you have playing Alabama. Anyone who thinks this is possible has simply forgotten or never experienced real competition.
Every player that has EVER played for LSU has taken games off during his career. Big Sam is the only one candid enough to speak the truth that we should all already know!
They aren't alone but the OP and TGRLEE lack enough CLUES! Please try get some.

Obama said George Bush is to blame

The buck has to stop somewhere. Les Miles is a players coach and I love that about him. However, this Montgomery business is pretty disturbing. As a fan who knows only a tiny fraction of what CLM knows about the game and his players it feels stupid to critique his coaching philosophy but I do hope he does not allow that attitude in the locker room going forward. Taking games off is not something championship players and teams do.

Yes. He is the head coach and is responsible for the on field action of his players.

It is off-base but it did get fans to talk.
Yeah, cause our fans don't talk at all. This board is a prime example. It's always so slow. Thanks so much for getting fans to talk again. I was getting bored and so were others, I'm sure.

no coach working in sports right now thinks its acceptable for players to take off games. but why do you think coaches try to treat every opponent like world beaters? it's because it's in human nature to not be as psyched for towson as you are for florida or alabama.
if you really think the buck always stops with miles then i hope he holds credit when good things happen that is equal to his liability when something bad happens.
And LSU has waaaaaaaaaaay more good than bad since miles came here.

WTF is up here lately? There's been about 20 people in the past 2 days that have registered this month and do nothing but shite on most things LSU.

If les Miles isn't responsible for his players on field actions , who is?
I gotta hear this.

Ask Terrence Cody about it.
Ask the Colts about it.
Ask the Packers about it.
In the NFL they literally bench a player for the 17th week at times. They LITERALLY take the game off.
But don't let that get in the way of your theory.

The players themselves.
I feel stupid asking this because you seem so knowledgeable and all, but have you ever played a sport?

Yes I have, my whole life actually.
So let me get this straight , les miles, the head coach isn't ultimately responsible for the actions and efforts of his own players.
Wow.
And you have the nerve to ask someone else if they ever played ball.
