Well, that explains quite a bit.

Were they really that good?
before he arrived they had 1 winning season in the previous 12 years and had 3 straight winning seasons and had them winning 8&9 games.

Seems like they are a far superior team since he's left.. so how do you explain that?
it took Gundy 4 years to reach the level of consistency miles had at OSU.
and miles won more at lsu than Saban. does that make him better than Saban or did miles take what Saban had built and took off?
its amazing watching people aplly logic to only miles and not other coaches.
IMO, miles wouldn't have been as successful at lsu if Saban had preceded him. just like Gundy wouldn't have been as successful if such a great recruiter hadn't preceded him.

To be fair, that's a way of saying "don't let them dictate what you do".
It's not. In fact that's the opposite.

Poor Les....his balls are still hanging on Saban's wall.

I'm amazed by your disdain for Miles considering all he accomplished... I really think fans became delusional based on how he started. Hell even when he went 11-1 fans bitched about him, so for some you can no make happy.
well how else are you supposed to act when miles doesnt start the player youre emotionally attached to?

quote:exactly. The goal for any coach should be to do the dictating. If your opponent has a great strength you try to do things to force them out of it
It's not. In fact that's the opposite.
It's funny because this is exactly how teams that were successful against LSU's defense did it. They would force us to adjust and then attack what was our prior strength before the adjustment.
Like I said that's just coaching 101. Until today I would have assumed every last coach in the world knew this and that just somewhere better at it than others
But nope. Apparently there is at least one more on out there who looks at a guy who is unblockable and a great run stuffer and thinks to himself we have to run at that guy

it took gundy his 4 year to reach 9 wins again. fact
and you're also not factoring in the program both coaches took over.
miles took over a program that had 1 winning season from 1988-2001.
facts and shite

I haven't read the whole thread, so I'm not sure if someone asked this yet or not. Why the hell were the asking Miles how to beat Bama?
Posted on 9/2/17 at 12:10 pm to Rickdaddy4188
OMG a .25 game difference but Miles was light years better
and gundy has far exceeded miles there.
you seriously cannot nake this shite up from the miles pumpers

I mean you could make the argument that Miles made it a better destination and therefore the talent was better than before he was hired. Thus him winning at even a .25 clip is better than what Gundy has done.
