Put Les in charge public relations for the Athletic Department. Nothing more, nothing less.

College athletics is a business, les is a coach. Not saying coaches are idiots (well some of them aren’t), but coaching a team and soundly running a business are two totally different things. LSU athletics, much like LSU football, are too big at this point to experiment with unproven talent at the head position. (Don’t ask dumbass Joe if he agrees with me)

It took Alleva since 2009 and 3 hires to possibly get the hoops program back on track.

If it takes him that long to find the right coach for the football program LSU is doomed.

Let's hope he doesn't get the chance to hire a baseball coach and ruin that program too.

would support 100%, would simply be a massive upgrade over the imbecile we have now

Great idea. Let's hire someone we fired for ineptitude to run the entire athletic program. What a doofus. It's no wonder the majority of you people voted for Trump in Louisiana.

Trump, really!
What the Trump hire shows is how stupid both Republicans and Democrats are and the divide between the two and how not working together for the betterment of the country is hurting this country.

Until we get a president that can bring the parties back together, to work together for all in this country it will be the same rhetoric back and forth that Obama created and Hillary wanted to continue. If people weren't so tired of the status quo Trump would have never got elected and I have news for you, it wasn't LA that got him elected.

Go to the political board with this nonsense.

Here's a thought. I know, it's outside the normal box of thought here. But if there is even a chance that Nick Saban is looking to step out of the coaching business, why not at least a query as to any possible interest in being LSU's next AD. He thrives under pressure and misses no detail; Nick would definitely hold coaches' feet to the fire in that position and does have LSU bona fides.

Wouldn't that frost the Roll Tide pumpkins?

but that's hilarious you think their football players were hitting the books in the 80s.

Well, "football schools" that also had "academic prestige" had "football degrees" like applied kinesiology and sports management so that football players who didn't want to hit the books would impact real degrees like economics.

What in the hell is wrong with you people? Did you learn nothing from hiring O?

Jesus H.

Hire someone with ample experience as an AD or assistant AD, that is fricking QUALIFIED for the job.

Not just go hire someone you know and make ANOTHER lazy arse hire. Good lord.

And I'm sure that his first HBC hire would be Cam.

I would actually be cool with this move, if we had a football coach we were comfortable with. You don't want to bring him in as AD knowing the biggest order of business will be finding the coach of the future

What we should have done was try and move him directly to admin and have him help with the current coaches search. I'll probably get hammered for that comment, but it would simply be a way to negotiate his buyout, which is clearly holding and will continue to hold us back.

If he would agree to let a consulting firm run the next coaching search as terms of his employment. Maybe. I sure would like to have his presence around the program at the moment.
