Mett=better passer...but 3rd on depth.
Because he's not as good in other phases of the game?

I don't approve of it because if thats true, why is he not the starting qb? Is he terrible with reads? Is he unable to handoff well?
Some recent quotes/articles cited that Miles et al were not totally happy with his work ethic. Boy's got a little lazy steak in him apparently.
I suspect he's going to turn up the effort in the fall.

He probably can't deal with being better and being 3rd on the depth chart.

Well he could have the best touch and strongest arm but have difficulty reading defenses or have a limited knowledge of the playbook. It's not that hard to understand why he might say that.

It's the same people that always criticize everything Miles says. It doesn't really matter what he said, it would have been criticized and questioned by the same people in this thread anyway.

He is probably not as far along given that he has only been here a short time. Physical passing ability is not what Jefferson has had issues with.

I'm not saying he didn't say this, but that's a real breakthrough for him to speak in comparative terms like that.
i agree. are we seeing a new miles? or is this just coach speak for "lee is toast and i need to protect him in the media"

Probably some mental games he is playing with his QBs. Trying to do a little motivation for both his back ups. Lights a fire under Mett and pushes Lee to become a better thrower.

Yeah and until he sorts some things out and puts in the effort, he'll stay there.
You can't just walk into the backup spot; you have to put the effort in on and off the field.

Against Hatch and Jefferson. He was definitely the best passer.

Actually, without the defensive debacle that could have been a very good year, even with the pick-6s. J-Lee just seems to get all of the blame for that nightmare of a season.
Those offensive numbers exceeded the last couple of years I believe.

quote:I don't blame him at all. The point of the post was that, even though he was the strongest passer, JLee got tossed to the wolves, through no fault of the coaching staff, and now his confidence and development as a QB have suffered.

He made some bad decisions that season, that's what inexperience at QB gives you. JJ is starting because of his experience.

And I thought that was the goal of a quaterback this whole time. To pass the ball. Handing off can't be that big of a deal.

quote:Hm... I guess in your world QB's don't run. Also, apparently being the strongest passer translates to being better at reading coverages, making audibles, running play actions, running options, etc?
