He is competitive. I don't know myself but it has to be a factor to some degree. Plus he may wish to be the next Jimmy Johnson or even Barry Switzer.

IMO Jeff Fisher would be perfect for that job.

Don't even post this kind of idea. Miles may see it. We need him here.

Stop being homers!!! I for one as an LSU fan would be happy for Les if he gets an NFL gig. Coaching in the NFL beats coaching college. Les is getting older and coaching in NFL is less work than college. College football is 24/7 365 with recruiting.

Do I think he will make the jump one day, maybe even now? Sure, why not if the money is right. I can see Les being a Butch Davis Part Deaux. Les has to know that he is one of the top 5 recruiting hot beds in the country. That kind of talent can hide a few coaching flaws. Just ask Nick Saban, college success mean little. The NFL is a different game; those guys are grown arse men.

fricking media. Just like last time we were going for a NC -- create a disturbance by reporting false bullshite.

We are being investigated for the Lyles connection. But it is probably Oregon who will get slapped with that before LSU. Seems we complied, Oregon didn't and we never landed any Lyles recruits.

In the fan poll associated with that article, Les isn't even listed as one of the candidates to vote for:
quote:

Poll: Who do you want to be next Dolphins coach?
Cast your vote from Omar Kelly's list of potential replacements:

Bill Cowher
Jeff Fisher
Jon Gruden
Brian Billick
Herm Edwards
Bob Stoops
Andy Reid
Rob Chudzinski
Perry Fewell
Todd Bowles
Rob Ryan
Joe Philbin

This is laughable because CLM coaches precisely the opposite. He's planted himself in a talent rich universe and coaches to play as a team with no stars and definitely no superstars. His key players are regularly asked to sacrifice ego in the name of team winning. See Spender Ware's 2nd half and QB Lee for great examples of players who've accepted diminished roles.

To say that's possible or even likely in a league of pre-madonna's is ridiculous. The mentoring, respect, and submission required on a college student's behalf is not something a bunch of Pacman Jones and Reggie Bush's (Miami) will accept. Reggie went to Miami to be the primary back; he was in a multi-back system in New Orleans and hated it.

What these so called NFL experts have failed to realize is CLM's success has more to do with making what was old and traditional, namely faceless team spirit over modern ego showboating, and translating it into Team Swag and #Winning. That is not possible with stars, superstars or talentless professional bench warmers in a league with parity and salary caps.

CLM benefits from the Talent Rich Louisiana pool.

CLM's style translates to a loaded team who will play as a team

CLM's coaching style will not work with overpaid egos

Are you high? Have you ever paid attention to football?

Perhaps you should read Sean Payton's book. Or ask Steve Spurrier, Bobby Petrino, or St. Nick himself this question.

I dont know CLM personally..... but man, he sure dont seem like he would make that jump. So many others have tried and didnt care for it, you would think he would consider that. He is cementing himself as a coaching legend here at LSU, why walk away from this?? How could it get any better??

Uhh, we are going to be sanctioned? When did that happen. I do not think Les is leaving LSU for the NFL, he seems to like the college game more.
