You don't think Miles has taken heat this season? It's been unmerciful. As a matter of fact, he's gotten piled on evey year. In my opinion, the opposite has been the problem. He takes heat every time a player sneezes wrong. But when we experience any measure of success, it's always with "Saban's players".

Miles receives that high salary to be the best in the business and the only criticism he should concern himself with is what is happening to the program this year. Yes, many said he won with Saban's players, but the university believed otherwise and gave him a raise. Actions speak louder than words. And that works both ways. He better take action and repair this damaged team and quit giving the fans words.

Okay, replace "great" with "good" I still think you'd get very few if any people that would support that. He's so far in over his head, and it's painfully obvious to anyone and everyone not wearing purple and gold. He's a good, and maybe even great recruiter, a stand up character guy, and very likable. But when it comes to managing a football game and running a game plan, he's one of the worst in the conference. I just can't for the life of me see why people support him so staunchly...

He's done a good job of steering the ship for the past couple of years. But this year when we didn't have solid QB, and had some questions on defense is the year when a really sound football mind could have made a huge difference.

This thread is silly. It has nothing to do with which season he is in. The success/failure this year has everything to do with last year's NC, accomplished with a bunch of talented seniors who sucked up most of the PT for three years, and are now almost all gone, leaving a field full of inexperienced players at LSU.

That's my point...no love at all for 3 seasons of unbelievable football....the best 3 year stretch EVER...more wins...BCS wins....SEC wins....a NC...hoisting the crystal and the first real problems he encounters what you say is, "He better take action". How about, the guys has done unbelievable things for the university and I am behind him. I hope and believe he will make the necessary changes. All you got is "He better.."? Really, you sound like a spoiled 10 year old.

Other than the obvious attempt to find selected stats to bash Miles, let's do a a head-to-head comparison based on follow-up years to the BCS:

Tenn (13-0) to (9-4)-- 31% decline
Fla St (12-0) to (11-2) -- 16% decline
Okla (12-0) to (11-2) -- 16% decline
Miami (12-0) to (12-1) -- 9% decline
Oh St (14-0) to (11-2) -- 16% decline
LSU (13-1) to (9-4) -- 23% decline
USC (13-0) to (12-1) -- 9% decline
Texas (13-0) to 10-3) -- 24% decline
Florida (13-1) to (9-4) -- 23% decline
LSU (12-2) to (7-5) -- 27% decline

Mile has not had the worst decline, in fact he's right in ther with good ole Nick Satan. If Miles wins the bowl game his decline will be identical 23% of Saban & Meyers.

So you're saying that players like Spears, Clayton, Flynn, Dorsey, Hester, Mauck, Green, Hunt etc. Don't have character

with the exception of flynn were all from Louisiana anyway so what is your point?

I think the 5 th and 6 th year is a better indicator for Miles. He was not given long enough recruiting time when he took over for Saban. Everyone knows Saban screwed us on the 2005 Recruiting class. If Miles was here for the full year prior he could of had more recruits IE another QB or been able to tell more about rp character. This year was expected to be a down year with or without RP. Obviously with RP we would probably of won 2-3 more games but still fallen short of going to the SEC championship. Miles made a mistake in promoting the DC from within. The sign of great Coach or person is not the fact you make mistakes it is recognizing those mistakes and correcting them.
