It's the same philosophy that Alabama employs, but with much better execution on offense and a lack of fear to throw it deep or down the middle when warranted.

We shall see. Bad offense catches up with you when you play very good defenses like Bama and Florida not against bad defenses like Texas A&M. That A&M defense gave up how much to LA Tech? I guess we will see. I give Les credit for being a great recruiter and out talenting teams on his schedule except maybe for Florida.

my iq is medium, but i have been studying iq for 20years. miles is about a 160 gifted to genius.
i formulate that b/c of his economics degree and his spatial reasoning. (but, just a guess.)
anyway, this is how the jeff duncan explains miles in the picyune:

They won because football fundamentally is a physics experiment. And LSU's big guys are faster than Texas A&M's big guys, and the Tigers' fast guys are bigger than the Aggies' fast ones. That reality became readily apparent down the stretch as LSU pounded its upset-minded neighbors into submission.
i have a few physicist friends and miles' economist brain is equivalent.
note: wall street is the largest market for physicists.

Employment
The three major employers of career physicists are academic institutions, government laboratories, and private industries, with the largest employer being the last.[2] Many trained physicists, however, apply their skills to other activities, in particular to engineering, computing, and finance, often quite successfully. Some physicists take up additional careers where their knowledge of physics can be combined with further training in other disciplines, such as patent law in industry or private practice. In the United States, a majority of those in the private sections having a physics degree actually work outside the fields of physics, astronomy and engineering altogether.[3]

I just jumped in here but are you saying Miles is a mad genius bending the laws of physics to his benefit every Saturday?

no. i'm saying miles is like werner heisenberg.

Heisenberg's doctoral thesis, the topic of which was suggested by Sommerfeld, was on turbulence;[8] the thesis discussed both the stability of laminar flow and the nature of turbulent flow. The problem of stability was investigated by the use of the Orr–Sommerfeld equation, a fourth order linear differential equation for small disturbances from laminar flow. He briefly returned to this topic after World War II.[9]
miles is a genius who understands shite that negaturds can't even look up.

The greatest trick Les Miles ever pulled was convincing the world he's an idiot

I agree with everything you are saying but can Les at least put a better offense on the field. If we do, we dominate every game on both sides. We don't need a high powered offense just a slightly above average offense in the nation and we are heading to ship no doubt.

Cute line, but it's wrong and he's not smart enough to do that even if he wanted to

BAMA fans will never admit it now but they weren't exactly in love with jim mcilwain aS their OC and the offense they ran
They went nuts on the secrant last year during and after the November LSU Game
Nussmeir was a great hire

He's got me fooled if that's the case. I'd prefer a HC that's feared and respected instead of perceived as an idiot and a joke, but that's just me. To each their own.

Judging from the silly nature of your post, fooling you would not be all that hard to do.

i agree ! we bemoan the ugly penalty stats and low passing production of mett vs. manziel, but i'll take 97 yds and a td over 256 yds and 3 int anyday. how 'bout you !

I've heard it all now: Miles as a physicist/economist?!
Football coaches are not geniuses. If Miles IQ is 160 then I'm Werner Von Braun.

You left out 1 important ingredient: a little luck..... This is why Les seems to be smarter than everyone else while looking like a complete lost soul on the offensive side of the football for most of the football game w play calling and execution. ATM kicks their field goals down the stretch and everyone is bitching BIG time. Just saying...

I agree...
As it currently stands, Kansas State, Oregon and Florida all have defenses that are not as good (IMO) as LSU's defense. Statistically, Florida's defense is close to or better than ours (depending on the category).
These teams are seriously good and rank above LSU in the BCS. Their offenses are also more diverse, unpredictable and statistically better against top tier competition than LSU's offense. Oregon and Kansas State have offenses that are astounding. Jaw dropping. Florida's offense is getting there also.
If LSU played any of these teams today, I do not think our defense would carry the day to win the game with our one dimensional offense.
Alabama? At this time, fugitaboutit! They are seriously head and shoulders above LSU from an offensive and defensive team standpoint.
Yet, we get a bye week to prepare for Alabama. We play them in Tiger Stadium. Will that change the fact that our offense is "last in line" compared to the aforementioned 4 teams?
I don't know, but I agree with your point that we need more of a balanced offense to be competitive with the above 4 teams. Specifically, we need more than 96 yards passing to go with our "run heavy" mix per game (as was the case with A&M).
Rant, don't go off on me now. Or I will bring up how Vanderbilt was able to score 2 TDs and a FG against Auburn while LSU was only able to score 1 TD and 1 FG. That is, our offense needs to be improved (as do the offenses of all teams, of course)...
I know we are working on improving. But if you watched the beatdown of West Virginia by Kansas State, the beatdown of Tennessee by Alabama, the beatdown of Arizona St. by Oregon (they honestly could have scored 100 points on them) and the beatdown of South Carolina by Florida (you know how we did against these 2 teams) then the LSU Nation must at least be questioning our offensive prowess. Just a little? Maybe?
Again, Coach Miles is my coach. My vision is to beat Alabama, beat Florida in the SEC Championship game and then hoist the crystal ball.
I would just like to see more of a balanced offense to compliment our excellent defense. No more 3 and outs. This (IMO) is why we lost to Florida. Give the defense 5 - 10 minutes rest before they must come back onto the field. Sustain drives. Even if no scores result. To me, this would require more successful passes in the mix. Move the chains time and again. Continue the unpredictability with 1st down throws, etc...
