Bregman might hit 40+ home runs this year. He's turning into a beast.

I’ve seen every bat of Alex Bergman’s career in Houston. Season ticket holder. Even went to Corpus to watch him with the Hooks. He is by far my favorite player at any sport. I have season tickets to the Stros.
That response on a stat proves my point about the Rant. Instead of saying Dude - he has the same OPS and OBP as last season. More HRs but less doubles. More walks, you ASSUME I’m digging him because he isn’t hitting in JUNE as high as a career .300 hitter? About fricking right.

DJ will never be a home run hitter but he has a batting title on his resume along with gold glove defense.

Everyone praises Bregman and he is good but right now DJ has had the better career.

In 2 years if Bregman continues then we can say him.

Maybe but if you had to pick one of the two to build a team around you wouldn’t be picking DJ.

I love DJ he’s a great player but his talent isn’t on Bergman’s level

Yet he is the mvp of the yankees so far and has had the better career to this point

Batting title, 3x gold glove and career .300 hitter.

Dj is no slouch

Take them both at 22 and I still choose Bregman.

Bregman has a career WAR of 15.5

While DJ has amassed 13.2 wins in twice the amount of time.

Batting average isn’t the be all end all of baseball and Bregman just flat out does more things better than DJ does.

And that’s not a knock on DJ. Bregman is becoming one of the best players in the game and the only place this argument is even happening is on Tigersdroppings. This isn’t even a conversation anywhere else

Considering at 22 DJ was a rookie with 62 plate appearances....

Over the last 5 years DJ has amassed 16.2 WAR while Bregman has 16.4 over the last 4. Bregman will be the better player, but as of right now DJ has had the more accomplished career.

Batting title, 3x gold glove, 2x All-Star vs 1x All-Star

Lol leave it to the Rant to argue and go Internet Rambo on each other for what? Two former great LSU tigers doing great in the major league baseball.

Ok carry on I thought I would just share that tidbit.

DJ seems to fly under the radar a bit. Very good major league player. Still pissed the Cubs traded him mostly because he's turned out to be a very good player but also because the two players they got for him did absolutely zilch. One journeyman veteran in Ian Stewart who contributed nothing as a Cub and a reliever who never made the bigs.

Swing and a miss by Theo. I'd sure take him over Russell and Descalso right now. Russell had some moments but even at his best DJ was better than him on his worst year.

an entire extra season and including Bregman’s 50 game call up rookie year as a “season” and he still out paces on WAR. He was also top 5 in mvp voting also. DJ has had a good mlb career. He is not on bregmans level. Even when Bregman is slumping right now.
