We need our first home run HC hire. Saban and Miles we're both mediocres when they came to LSU. Do whatever it takes to get Tom Herman! We have to retain our recruiting ground.

I think the fact that LK would keep our D staff is a big plus. I don't like tying up a coach and saying you have to keep the current D staff but a smart person would likely try to keep them.

Aranda is one of the best in the game, O is the best Dline coach and a monster on the recruiting trail. Raymond could go and we just replace him.

Its really amazing how one side of the ball has elite coaching and the other has useless sacks of shite in Cam, Ensminger, and Grimes

I don't think this would be bad at all.

Maybe not the very best, but certainly a solid choice.

id like those people to tell me they wouldn't take Nick Saban back as our coach. Almost every coach is a scumbag off the field. I don't really care if a coach wants to get some action on the sideline. I don't care if they ruffle feathers like LK does.

I think a far bigger concern than who a coach is dicking on the side would be something like Briles where you have an out of control football team or Franklin.

Petrino made a huge mistake putting his piece on the payroll and that opened up arky to a real potential for legal issues. However, I think Petrino is smarter than miles and learns from mistakes. So if he still wants a side piece he wont be putting her on the state payroll.

I 100 percent agree with you which is why I want Petrino here. Seeing what he could do with elite talent would be scary.

I would promote Aranda for a few seasons and let him bring in another younger coach for offensive coordinator that he is comfortable with. He is a future great head coach. Why not here? Why not now?

Look, I love Aranda and think he will make an excellent head coach one day down the line. However, we shouldn't just turn it over to him.

I would be ok with making him interm coach and seeing how he does in turning this baby around. I don't think it should just go right to him though if we wait out the season before firing the clown.

its a pretty big gamble, but if we did hit it on Aranda it could be massive, but if he fails it could crater us pretty bad.

I feel like Mullen would be on the B/C level hires.

He has done a really good job at Miss State. He was never known as a recruiter even while at UF. He doesn't have to be a big recruiter here if he hires an OC and DC that he trust. He could let our staff do its job recruiting to his system and he handles the X and O on offense.

I think this year is going to be bad for state as we have already seen, so that is going to hurt his luster. He should have probably jumped after 2014 or after last year.

I think the hire would have looked much better if we pushed miles out last year and brought in Mullen.

I mean the man did have state ranked number 1 for a point in time, that in itself is pretty amazing.

ya know, i haven't been for kiffin.

IF he kept the defensive staff (we all know he would keep bebe) then that would be a good hire. maybe not our first choice, but i'd still take fedora before kiffin.

i've been saying i wouldn't take jimbo, but that's because i'm tired of hearing about it. he's not coming here. we have a better chance of getting herman.

Tom Herman isn't coming.

Scott Frost should be on the list.

Bobby Frickin Petrino... Anyone who down votes oughta give me a reason other than "he's a grade A arsehole, cheated on his wife, blah blah blah..." The guy isn't paid to be a got damn preacher, he's paid to be a football coach and got damn good one at that. How many offensive minded coaches have come through the sec and lasted? Look at how well auburn and the Aggies are doing with offensive minded coaches... The only guy to ever come into the sec and last was Petrino. His offense works, and that was at Arkansas... Can you freaking arse imagine what he'd be doing right now with this team? The guy has a top five team thats made of spare parts that beat the dog shite out of Jimbo.

Also of note Mullen basically fits the mold that we have went after with the last two hires.

guy at the 2nd tier team in state, wins at a decent clip there.

I think he misses a bowl game this year which will hurt him a little bit as far as his shine.

I Herman says no then I go to Aranda or kiffin. But sure we will see with jimbo just hope he says no again. One thing we can all be sure of whoever it is will be an improvement on Les. The only things Les has ever been decent at is recruiting and keeping us out of major ncaa violations.

the issue with Fedora could be him wanting to bring chiz with him which pushes out all of the current d staff.

IMO if we bring in Herman, Jimbo or Petrino with just talking through their agents. They are known commodities so its not like they would really interview anyways.

The next tier has guys like Fedora, LK, Macintyre, Mullen and so on which we would either have to wait to end of the season to interview or have a closed meeting with them. They are ones that would need to present a plan to make LSU into a winner again.

You are out of your mind. He would be Les Miles 2.0. LSU needs someone who can develop talent and coach the offensive side of the ball.

"Has to be Herman or Fisher

No other names will cut it at this point"

Agreed, except I'd add Petrino.

so, we can pay his buyout. Money isn't really an issue for the TAF and our biggest boosters.

PR might not look good but who gives a frick, with the way the media cycles stuff and the attention span of the world being less than 24 hours some short term bad pub is worth if it translates to wins and therefore more dollars on the back end.

The football team being good again will make the academic side good again. If you look at Alabama its rolling on the academic side because of the exposure they get due to being the baddest team in football.
