It seems far fetched that this occurred in the manner presented yet there was something very strange about the whole offensive game plan and post game talk about it. The rumors provide interesting talking points right now if nothing else, sans the Alabama fans posting here instead of where they should be. Why would Greg Williams have this much against LSU though?

I have no idea why he does it.

Many coaches, college & pro, are really close behind the scenes. For Williams to even help Bama prepare for the option against LSU, shows that Williams & Saban had a prior relationship. Its not uncommon for coaches to share film, prior game plans or give tips to help one another. With both Saban & Williams being defensive coaches, that relationship probably developed a long time ago. If anyone doesn't think a slimy SOB like Williams wouldn't take to opportunity to relay such info to Saban is just fooling themselves.

Would be pretty easy to do if you knew you had three Aces in the hole, would it not?

But to think that Gregg Williams and the Saints staff "scouted" LSU for Alabama over the course of week during which the Saints staff was preparing for a huge playoff game (Detroit was no slouch on offense last year; the Saints defenseive staff had their hands full with them) is just asinine.

So there's no possible way that Williams could have left his office in the Superdome.......went down to watch LSU practice for a little while and relayed what he saw to the Bama coaches?

This could have taken 45 minutes of his day.

You JUST said that Williams had a working relationship with Saban.

Are you saying that there's no possible way Williams could have went down to watch LSU practice?

Have you never done a favor for someone else at your job?

And there it is ladies and gentlemen. The Gumps put it all to bed. They know for a fact that none of this is even possible because everyone of these plant working, moron sidewalk fans sit in on gameplan meetings. They know everything that goes on with "Bama Footbawl".

My response was based on being a Saints fan as well as an Alabama fan.

The Detroit Lions were the sole focus of the Saints during the week leading up to the BCSNC. To think they went out of their way to scout a game that had zero relevance to their season or jobs is stupid.

If Saban took some info given to him to beat or arse like he did in January,he's even a better coach then I thought he was.
You have to be a great coach to take info like that and actually make it work against an opponent. It's not like the info just made it all work automatically.

Just throwing out a thought, but why would it be so far fetched that maybe he was paid for his services to assist Alabama. Harper very well could have helped line all this up.

He wouldn't have to have anything against LSU to tip off insider info. It would be more about helping someone than hurting someone.

But Gregg Williams is a piece of human excrement.

This board talked about how strange it was for 8 months.

Everyone here knows that there was something not right about that entire game.

I would think they were more "bros" than the LSU staff and the Saints staff

Williams didn't even have any "bros" on the Saints staff. He was basically an outcast.

Except for one detail you are to blind to see. Saints coaches/staff/scouts have long since had access to the lsu football complex. Not the falcons, Dallas cowboys or any other franchise chump.

3rd and 4 and we ran our FB who had 1 carry for 0 yards on the year in an increasingly urgent situation...

QB shot puts an INT. to Bama after looking awful and the capable backup is never given a snap while the crowd chants for him...

3 minutes left in the game down 21-0 and we punt...

Case closed.

Conclusion = 60-minute Brain Fart (even if Bama had a little inside scoop on some plays).

Didn't Saban work with Bill Billichexmix in Cleveland? Didn't BB get busted for scouting practices illegally? That being said, I have to side with the Bama fans here, they sound like they know what they are talking about.
