I believe he was already injured as of that Baylor game.

Nuss never ran when it counted

He might actually be 6’2”.

Leavitt is fast. His main issue is, he can't read defenses and he's inaccurate.
However, hopefully he can improve and be coached up.

Looked like another ASU transfer QB in those highlights

quote:It’s just another rate of measurement. You can convert your 40 yard/4.4 sec to miles per hour, meters per second, feet per sec, whatever.. It’s all just distance/time.
Measuring football players in MPH is stupid. Football players never run a mile, and they never run for an hour. The tried and true standards of 40 times and 100 times have served us well for over a century. If you already know a ball player runs a 4.4, what is gained by converting that to MPH? This thread is testament to the fact people don’t know MPH as it relates to football.
It seems like mph is more often used for long runs 60+ yards. If I had to guess probably because your speed fluctuates more when running that far (your speed might be different at the 20, 50, and other 20 yard lines) so it captures a better range.
It’s just another data point to have. They might not be running a mile, but they’re not always running just 40 yards either.

Daniels ran a 21.8 in game, no way Nuss touched that.
Daniels threat is that he had ELITE quickness. That’s different than straight line speed. He can change directions instantly and accelerate instantly. He’s like a cat.
That’s way different than straight line speed.
Agreeing with Daniel's quickness, but his, straight line speed was very elite as well. Michael Vick elite.
Nuss ran the ball? In a game? I must have blinked.

doubt it was in a game
Really? What makes you think that Nuss running 21.4mph LAST OFFSEASON wasn't in a game?

Even if he just scrambles as much as Burrow, we'll have success.
Anything is better than captain deadlegs.

Didn’t Nuss run like 22 mph last preseason?
Bull shite. If that kid was that fast he wouldn’t have been so scared to run and sloans offense would've been slightly more effective.

Dang Jayden must have been running 30

Watch some Leavitt highlights. His top speed when he gets moving is not far off from the LBs and DBs trying to chase him down. This number sounds right to me.

I think Sam is a far better QB than most of y'all realize

I asked artificial intelligence if 21 mph running time for a qb is fast
why?

The biggest threat we have with Leavitt is that he doesn't make enough plays from the pocket and starts tucking the ball too much.
If he's going to be elite, he will have to trust Kiffin's scheme and make his running ability secondary.

Did he do it after having Lisfranc surgery?

This type of stuff doesn’t matter a ton imo.
I mean it kinda does for the same reason I posted above.

I mean it’s good to know that he can run, but I was never really worried that he wouldn’t be able to sprint again. I’m more curious to see how his side to side agility looks. That’s what most important to his skill set.

Here we go with the superman bullshite, non stop till August
Dude is a stud athlete, yes. Can't wait to see him stay in a pocket and pass efficiently.
Jaden could roll as well, and gave us a great Heisman memory season. But in the end, running qbs don't get the rings...for the most part
It's all about smarts and smart calculated running when necessary...
I hope we have another Heisman candidate from his play on the field

Fair enough. And I agree.
I would really like to see that Nuss ran 21+ in game. Daniels was clocked at 21.8, so that would be impressive for Nuss. And a crime we never saw him use that ability.
As long as Sam has pocket presence and uses his legs he’s already an upgrade from Nuss.
