If LSU backs down now they will look extremely weak. For all of the schools to turn on LSU this is not an isolated issue. College football is collapsing on itself and the ones that will survive it will be the schools that are agile independent of conference that can negotiate their own TV deals independently of conferences skimming off the top like an HOA telling you how low you can cut your grass. LSU has a massive lawsuit waiting to be filed if punished in any way by following a court order.

OK, but the only viable option is the Big Ten. No way the ACC and Big 12 can match the revenue and LSU would leave a lot of money on the table by going independent, unless we have a schedule that is P4 for 10 out of 12 games. No network is going to pay us to have 7 or 8 home games with 3 against Sunbelt, MAC, and American.

The big10 is more lucrative than the sec thanks to Sankey.

What happens the next time something comes up and they know they can lean on LSU like they are doing now. You gotta bully the bully in situations like this and fight them for leverage on future issues. You never want to be in a situation like this but when you do it’s good to bite and not just bark and let everyone else in the conference knows that you will go all the way if this is ever attempted in the future. Like the article said they can replace LSU with anyone. I would test the theory

Who do you want to join? Looking forward to road games at K State or Baylor? Maybe at Purdue or Rutgers? We could have big home games against Maryland or NC State? Come on dude.

Wow. I’ve read some really dumb stuff on this board, but this and your later response may be the DUMBEST thing I’ve read yet.
If you’re gonna die on a hill, make it one worth dying for. And if LSU were to leave the SEC, unless the big ten wants them, LSU athletics would die.

If it's the big ten think about games against Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Oregon, Penn State, Indiana and even middle of the pack programs like Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Washington. We can still play teams from the South.
But, if we join the big ten we'd have to agree to same rules as the SEC regarding NFL players coming back.
