We were up 17-7 in the 3rd quarter. Sounds like we were prepared.

I am a little more patient than you are. I finally gave up on him after this year’s Vanderbilt game.

he egregious part of that game was LSU CLEARLY not being ready for Marcel Reed when he came into the game. Like they didn't even set up a game plan for what to do if Wegman left the game.

Well, given the fact they had a full season this time to prepare for Reed and he still ran all over LSU, I'd say it's less likely LSU "didn't have a plan" and more likely that do have a plan...it's just a really, really bad one

Kelly lost me after the USC loss. Beating USC is something that I had wanted for 20 years. Losing to them just shattered my fandom.

I’d chew arse like a marine corps drill instructor. I know he’s a prick. So are/were many great coaches. He is not. His refusal to make necessary changes and calling us “spoiled” did it for me. You made the sec cg and beat bama in your first year. You’ve done dick since. I’m not spoiled. I have an expectation and memory.

Same here. You can tell the team was woefully unprepared. Up 17-13 in the fourth with the ball with a chance to really put it away but just no killer instinct.

That season was doomed from the start.

You are correct that it was the 2024 Texas A&M game that was the "turning point". But well before the 3rd quarter, Kelly made a very definite, precise "Decision" that was so incredibly shocking/baffling that I instantly felt/knew + watched/saw unfold "live" that was THE "tell tale" MOMENT" (root word for "momentum") that signaled both Kelly's & the Team's current & future demise! And from THAT very shocking, stupefying & decisive exact "MOMENT" Kelly made that "decision/call" ......the Historical Record, Individual Key Players & Overall Team's Performance (actual stats/data) would prove what I had "felt/known" to be correct!

It's NOT that I am some savant. For practically everyone was "frozen in disbelief" (including LSU's offense who was on the field & fixing to score). So literally "shocked & stupefied" at what Kelly did.....many people "missed it"!

I simply can not relive the horror of that "momentous decision" by Kelly by providing, explaining all specific "circumstantial + situational" details involved, like - field position, score, time clock, etc that all combined & led to the KILLING of not only that particular game (which we were dominating & fixing to score, again, and therby drive the last nail in A&M's coffin), but which also began the destruction of LSU's rank/rating/record/season; includiung overall team & highly talented/key player's performances and would culminate in Brian Kelly's firing!

So YES, it was the 2024 A&M Game, that was the turning point.

But the Moment Kelly killed the All Important MOMENTUM (which LSU HAD) was WHEN KELLY "F O L D E D" by basically Taking a Knee @ the "End" of the First Half (not really because there was still *70* ~ S E V E N T Y S E C O N D S left) after Nussmeier had just executed a flawless 2 minute drill/drive down the field to the A&M 44 yard line. And with A&M on their Heels, it was practically a foregone conclusion that LSU was poised & fixing to score the demoralizing death knell Touchdown (or at minimum a Field Goal) just before "heading to the locker rooms for halftime" & bring the score to 24 to 3 or 7 (I forget).

I could not believe (nor could Nuss & LSU's offense who remained on the field "Frozen in Disbelief" @ how/what Kelly had just decided! You could literally "see/feel" the spirit being exorcised from the offensive players! Kelly, right then - KILLED THE MOMENTUM & VERY SPIRIT, TRUST/BELIEF IN THE TEAM!!

I knew then and immediately jumped out of my chair, started calling/texting/positing how INCREDIBLY HUGE that STUPID DECISION & "SIGNAL" of Lack of Will, Faith, Confidence by "Tucking & Running"!!

A&M IMMEDIATELY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THAT MOMENTUM SHIFT/CHANGE......AND ALSO IMMEDIATELY TOOK OVER & FLIPPED THAT HUGELY IMPORTANT GAME!!

Nussmeier's confidence/performance, along with other highly talented - Key Players, along with the entire LSU Team were NEVER the SAME from THAT POINT ON. Think I'm crazy? Go back & check the historical record - actual stats/data/performance from that point forward!

I will say it again - M O M E N T U M - is INFINITELY, INCALCULABLY IMPORTANT.....in Every sport, but especially in College Football & Uber Especially in the SEC with Stadiums packed with 100k Fans. Kelly, who I liked and supported up to that moment, lost the team, and certainly Me that very instant. LSU was 6-1 (undefeated in SEC play) was highly ranked, team + fan confidence was HIGH, and was poised/sitting in control of their Destiny, Season, etc. And in this Massive Game while playing "on the road" - Kelly "Jerk Yanks - Steals/Takes" the Momentum/Game from LSU & "Gift Wraps - Gives" it to Texas A&M..... @ KYLE FIELD!!

And exactly ONE YEAR LATTER - Against A&M - Kelly would be FIRED!!
