Last year, Lane had his best team he had ever assembled and missed the playoffs.

Top QB
Top WRs
Great defense

If he accepts the offer, it’s because he knows his ceiling at Ole Miss and it isn’t a national championship.

It’s his fault they blew it at home against a terrible Kentucky team. That’s not because he’s at Ole Miss. it’s because he didn’t have his team prepared.

The SEC is difficult and making the playoffs even more so. More news at 5.

Understatement. That loss anchored them. That was UK's only Power win last year.

He also didn't make the playoffs because of the magic of Death Valley

Don't think for a second he isn't considering that when making this decision

These numbers were skewed by the run D. Their pass D was around 11th and Vandergriff had the best game of his career. Kentucky was able to hold on to the ball for nearly 40 minutes.

How many playoff wins does Lane have?

If we're assigning blame to Lane for underperforming in 2024, we also need to assign Lane a ton of credit for greatly overperforming in 2025. He's built Ole Miss to a point where they have a very high floor with him in charge.

At some point you have to realize that some schools have a lower program ceiling than others. Ole Miss hasn’t won anything since segregation and this might be their best season. But is it sustainable? Likely not. So if a higher tier school is willing to pay you more and you are still young you consider it. The NFL already called and he failed. So I don’t think he ever wants to go there again.

I think its funny people are drooling over Kiffin and balking at Dillingham, when Dillingham actually made the playoffs and was competeitve.

If Jaxon Dart doesn’t shite the bed against Florida, they probably make the playoffs.

Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr running our out O with Louisiana athletes + Blake Baker running the D. Could be elite. Sure would be fun.

Yeah, this is my worry.

People think Lane is gonna come here and we automatically are gonna be in the playoff every year.

Lane is a good coach. And he'll do better consistently with the added talent he'd get from coaching here.

But he is who he is. We're not getting skinny Kirby.

Brian Kelly went to a natty. Current winningest coach in CFB. Maybe LSU should hire him. Kelly never lost to Mississippi State. What about Dillingham?

12 team playoff has been around for 1 season. He made it while losing to a 5-7 Cincinnati team and 8-5 texas tech. Cool.

Look at this crap.

Again, Dillingham took a team to the playoffs, Kiffin never has.

Lane isn't going to keep Baker, he will want to take Pete Golding with him.

You suck at this.

Kiffin will likely make playoffs this year, what about Dillingham?

2023 Kiffin went 10-2 and missed playoffs because there wasn’t a 12 team playoff, just 4 teams. He lost to #2 UGA who missed the playoffs because they lost to bama in sec championship. The other loss was to playoff team Alabama.

2024 Dillingham went to a 12 team playoff with 2 losses to unranked 5-7 Cindy and unranked 8-5 Texas Tech.

You really do suck at this. Perfect for message boards.

They'll each have one appearance after this year.

Yet one is considered the goal, the other not wanted. Dillingham did it with far less talent and money than Kiffin.

and this year he is getting in by eeeking by LSU and Florida, the two teams who need a coach because they aren't to standard. S. Car could have beat them. They are going to get KO'ed in the playoffs. Not SEC title, no natty. Let him stay if thats what he wants. It will be his own undoing
