A friend of mine and I are arguing over who's athletic dept has the most money.

UF generates more AD revenues, but I believe LSU generates more profit.

In fact, I think LSU has one of the most profitable ADs in the country.

So no one has any numbers from the past 2-3 years, and everyone just jumps to florida without doing any recent research, im not saying its not Florida but for everyone to write shite without backing it up with facts is pointless.

I've not seen any numbers more recent than that report. But I don't know why you would think things suddenly changed in the last two years.

Don't know how current the data is, but the list below shows LSU AD profit of > $5M (on >$60M revenues), & UF profit of >$3M (on >$77M revenues), so at one time LSU AD was more profitable than UF:

Florida has had the jacked up seat donations for at least 10-15 years longer than LSU has. LSU was way behind most of our SEC rivals. We've caught up some, but most SEC powers charge a buttload for tickets (donations).

bsolutely wrong. i know alot of people at uf athelethic department LSU is definitely in better shape!!

I assume that is being sarcastic because UF, hands down, has more money than LSU.

Our PSL's are miniscule compared to theirs.
Their merchandise licensing is more profitable than ours.
They have more wealthy boosters.

UF is almost twice as big as LSU. The population of FL is 18,328,340.

Which one appears to have more to you.

I lay my bet on UF.

your the only one with some research instead of just blowing smoke like the majority of ppl have so far, i wasnt trying to say your info was right or wrong, just the fact everyone that came on here is "certain" florida has more with no factual evidence is kind of annoying.

It's just something that must people were already aware of. I've seen multiple revenue and profit listings of football programs over the past several years. It's also common sense when you compare the size and endowments of the two schools, as well as the overall population difference of Florida.

Exactly, but I guess some people just can't figure it out. The actual revenue taken in by the athletic dept is only a small piece of the pie. Someone is kidding themselves if they think LSU has donors comparable to UF.
