And Penn and those Safeties are all long gone.

I remember an Ole Miss QB that ran wild on us (over 200 yds rushing in 2019) we won the game but he ran all over us. Think his name was Plumlee.

I think it’s all pretty irrelevant. I’m just saying that you you are going to citing games against Lamar and Manziel is just about as useful as citing games against John Rhys Plumlee and Jalen Milroe.

LSU historically performs well against these types of quarterbacks. Shut down Lamar Jackson and Johnny Football.

Sellers is good, and if LSU hides Perkins like they did against OM, Sellers will have a 100yd rushing game. Perkins is too much of our defense for him to have another 2 tackle game.

They should stop putting him in the Slot against 5’9 WRs

You’re right we didn’t contain him last game, but that was a completely different defense.

What are we to conclude? Is there some significant change in his abilities on the road? Do those numbers represent all the games he has played?
You could possibly conclude what I said in the conclusion of the post. Sellers is a bit slower with decision making on the road, and it's led to him being sacked about 2 more times per game compared to his games at home. He played 6 P4 Home games and 6 P4 Road games, so it's a very even comparison.

That's not totally accurate. His sack adjusted rushing total outside of that 75 yard TD was still 7 carries for 32 yards and a TD. 4.6 yards per carry. They were shredding us in the 1st half. Very easily could've put up 45+ had he finished the game.

Thank god this defense has drastically improved at every level. Add to that we get Sellers at home, and I think we get nowhere near the same performance from LaNorris as we got in that 1st half last year.

Sellers is obviously a very good runner, but he has 98 yards rushing on the season and 1 TD. 81 of those yards were against Kentucky. As a team SC is dead last in the SEC rushing.

This won't be the same as playing Ole Miss who averages over 200 ypg rushing.

Overall LSU is 12th in the SEC offensively which is bad, but SC is last at 16th.

This really needs to be a "get well" game for LSU. If they don't show they can go out and whip SC (talking to the offense), this team will be in serious trouble the remainder of the season.

Man, that's a dim sum for the LSU defense. And with the sole exception of Milroe 2023, it's all on Baker.

You might say that Kelly is on the hot pot.

Nice. I think crowd noise could be an important factor.

Our last three DCs (and the current one) can't seem to figure it out.

Why is that?
