So how many years need to pass before one has learned from their mistakes?

Kiffin took the #1 team in the nation and had a losing record and was the first coach since the 60's to be ranked #1 and finish unranked.

Yeah, let's hire Kiffin as head coach.

One thing we've learned, head coach positions are absolutely CEO positions. Ed O is being mocked left and right by the media. Not his fault, not completely, I get it. I still just don't see how he is anything but a contingency plan.

Look at Jimbo's recruiting class. Look at Kirby, he lost like 5 or 6 games his first year at UGA and still stole a recruiting class. I hate to say it, but your HC has to be a celebrity - if Kiffin has another good year at FAU - he's your guy. Aranda is the most brilliant DC in all of college football, but he isn't a celebrity yet - not as an HC. If you take him, you accept a mediocre class upfront and hope that he smokes some teams on the field and pulls it off in year 3. Its an acceptable risk as well.

very little of this is accurate other than Aranda being a brilliant DC

so a couple of years make a difference on if the past counts or not?

none of this is accurate

UGA 2017 Recruiting Class

2016 UGA Record

TA&M Moves from 18 to 3rd currently upon Jimbo b/c HC for recruiting from 18-19

If you want any other facts, please go see SEC Channel on demand from as late as today - Jordan Rodgers "LSU Coach Situation scary", correction, he said "great, and terrible if you're an LSU fan..."

Which parts were you referencing as inaccurate? Facts do not care about feelings, and we better learn that fast as fans before we end up like Texas and Tennessee.

And haven't won a national title since Kiffin has been gone, right?

He didn’t win on the big stage?

He won a national championship as an OC. Is there a stage bigger than that?

Was that the ONLY NC Nick Saban has ever won? Are all of his titles because of Kiffin?

Didn't Bama win the title this past season while Joey Freshwater was chasing tail in Florida?

as it pertains to Kiffin?

I'd say sustaining success as a head coach for more than a year and not trolling on twitter like Donald Trump would be a start.

Kiffin was fired after a season and 4 games in Oakland, constantly butting heads with upper management

Kiffin left UT after a year, and left probation for them to deal with for his behavior and lack of control. He also got in a car wreck with two college chicks and had the owner of the car dealership cover it up. Less than a third of his lone recruiting class was at UT after 2 years, most notably Janzen Jackson

Kiffin was fired at USC after starting the season #1 in the country his last year there.

Kiffin goes to Alabama and has some success but is constantly butting heads with his boss and ultimately gets fired the week before the national championship game. he also creates an alter-ego while he trolls for 20 year old girls

He then gets a HC job at FAU, has a good year, but can't help himself but to constantly frick with people on social media.

He's immature and not someone that has shown he's learned from his mistakes. No one ever said he couldn't coach, but learning from his mistakes? Nah

Are you saying he didn't improve their season???

I mean, they were 3-2 and finished 9-4 with Orgeron, and he lost the two biggest games on their schedule. The team played well, but no miracles were performed.

Seems familiar...

Well neither had Orgeron, but here we are.

I'm not in favor of hiring Kiffin in a wide open search, but over Orgeron? Not even a question, and that's my point of contention. If we had to choose between two flawed coaches, give me the one that has more talent for the job.

IF Orgeron would fail this year, he would have one winning season as a full time head coach and never a coordinator. Kiffin would have 3 seasons as a successful coordinator under the best coach in college football history along with 2 seasons as a successful head coach. It would be better.

If ifs and butts were candy and nuts what a great year this would be.
Man, with a record like that, we should lock him into a Miles type guaranteed contract before some other dumb arse snaps him up.
