Lane Kiffin will be moving to bigger and better things if he has another good season...

Let's call it what it is:

If LSU does underwhelm this year would you be excited to see L. Kiffin get his next gig at LSU?

With that said "Geaux Tigers" and I hope we do very well this year - just thinking about the long term future. Half of LSU's staff is currently a couple years removed from a nursing home. (that's a joke, but they don't have too much time in the game left in them)

I’m hoping it doesn’t come to it, but could you imagine how sweet it would be to beat nick Saban with Lane fricking Kiffin as our HC?

It would be great to see a competent offense. Plus having one of the best play callers in college football

O's almost certainly going to get another season, so we're going to miss the Lane train.

No, hasn't matured any. He's a bunch of bluster but never backed it up on the big stage.

I’m still wary of his maturity and baggage. I would hope that it doesn’t come to us taking that risk. He has a great football mind and knows how to coach but as far as the responsibility and politics that come with being a head coach in the SEC, Kiffin hasn’t really shown anything to me that he’s mature enough for the job. If Orgeron is done after this year I hope there are better candidates available

I agree. I would be thrilled to have him as OC, but would be very, very skeptical as HC for all of the reasons you mentioned.

Boy, the 2 coaches people want Meyer and Kiffin, a Prison Intramural Coach and a clown from Ringling Brothers.

Well O had plenty of baggage and an awful record and LSU hired him. Kiffin would’ve at least coached a school to conference championships and bowl wins before being hired.

You guys should totally hire Kiffin. I am dead serious. I believe he would wreck shite with Louisiana-LSU caliber talent. If you can manage his loose cannon personality he would kill it. Hopefully he has matured somewhat because the guy knows football.

So - all emotions removed from the situation, if you're the LSU AD - what's your plan for LSU's future?

If you're betting your job, millions etc etc on it - what do you put your money on? Ed O's binder? Lane Kiffin?

Seriously, what happens to Aranda? Will he continue to work for O forever instead of running his own show? The only thing that seems certain to me is that you're gonna miss every train if you're worried about O. The whole idea is to trade up - so, if O wins 9 games - but a prolific coach comes available, you don't try to upgrade?

I wouldn't go that far, just he's not at the top of my wishlist.

I think that's one of those 2 wrongs don't make a right situations. IMO, LSU is above both of those hires.

The guy that they didn't even let return to campus before fiing on the tarmac at the airport?

The guy who had gone 4-7 in his last 11 games after being the #1 ranked team in the nation in the pre-season polls?

The guy who Eaux took over for and lead to a national ranking and bowl game?

Yeah, let's do what USC did and suck really bad.
