Best? Saban's class that included Marquise Hill and Marcus Spears is hard to beat.
If you take away the results of that class (which were phenomenal) and only judge the two classes on paper, this year’s class is better. Let’s hope they all stay 2 or 3 years and produce as much excitement.

Lane has been to the nfl and done that. I don’t know that he wants it but if he does after 4-5 years and two titles then have at it.
Saban before bama never stayed longer than 5/6 years.

And if he goes NFL but wins a title or two in 5 years on the way out, he’s earned it without any criticism. He would have accomplished his goal here and cemented his own legacy
He’s going to win a natty here, go coach a Florida NFL team, THEN go to Bama and win 6 more natty’s

He has already coached in the NFL. I don’t think he wants to go back.
I agree, mainly because, over the last 8 years, Lane really found his groove when he started mixing in concepts of the Art Briles system that exploits the width of the college hash lines (so when the ball is lined up one hash, there is a massive amount of open space on the other side to play with, particularly when WRs are lined up in extreme splits damn near the far sideline).
The NFL has smaller hashes up the middle. The wide side advantage is minimal.

Can we just let the guy coach at least a few games before we start projecting where he’s gone in 5 years? Nothing is guaranteed!

Agree, but this group is in the discussion and gets the opportunity to prove it over the next few years. Let's all hope we are all calling them the best one day.

Kiffin will only be here 3 years, in my opinion. It will go one of two ways and each will end with just a 3 year stint. He will either kill it and win a natty and leave for greener pastures, or he will disappoint in the same way Kelly did and under perform and we’ll have to buy him out after 3.

Typical LSU fans already wanting to know when their just hired coach is going to leave.Iremember when we hired Dinardo the first thing fans said was as soon as he’s successful he’s going to ND.Catrastrrophy syndrome is alive and well.

I know i may sound delusional, but i think Lane is here till he retires or we fire him
However I do agree. I've been saying the same thing. I didn't even know he was asked and responded about the NFL thing, but just thought about Saban and how he felt after the NFL and it reminded me of how Kiffin is. Kiffin scratched that itch already, and he does not come off as a guy who wants to go back to that. The Bama thing makes ZERO sense. Bama itself is not a better job than LSU. He also only was an OC at Bama for a few years for Saban. That was the ONLY connection he has there. You see he didn't give a damn about Florida when LSU came around.
