Gun violence on campus during the last two home games? Yes, most definitely. Lots of people come here from out of town for games and may not be watching our local news. Many probably follow this board.

Shootings on campus during the last two home games? Considering many here are (A) LSU fans and (B) attend the games, I'd say it is a VERY big issue to be worried about. If allowed to continue unchecked, you are talking about a significant alteration of the gameday atmosphere at LSU as we know it. Law abiding members of society who just want to attend a game and gather with friends at a tailgate party will stop attending if the feel they are at risk of being caught in the crossfire of a criminal element that has, evidently, now started hanging out on campus on game day.
Just this past week you had one shooting. Another where a bozo shot himself in the middle of a very crowded part of campus very near the stadium. You've also had videos surface of people brandishing guns on campus. Still, if those are just the incidents you know about, you can guarantee many more are carrying guns and aren't afraid to have a shootout amongst fans/tailgaters.

To be fair, both these things are legal. A reminder that dogs can sniff out more than weed, including weapons.
I don’t disagree that the enforcing the former could have an impact (or any police presence really), but there may need to be another angle because all anyone has to do skirt around weed is get a dispensary card.

Youre not wrong. But the issue is more complicated..decades of systematic suppression creating low class families that lead to people committing crimes, incineration and fatherless families.
That doesn’t take away from the fact that the police need to step in and take care of it at LSU
