Doesn't matter if he forgets or not. I love Laron as much as the rest of you guys, but he is never going to win the battle tackling Jacobs high like that.
he didnt go in high.

Only if you save it to your hard drive and post it over and over for ten years. Hopefully there are more important things going on in ten years than a hit on a former LSU player in a regular season NFL game.
Do you never watch NFL production on t.v. or something?
Every time they do one of those montages of big hits or action before a game, he will be on there.

That was one of the biggest trucked moments I have seen. I love the fact that Laron was crazy enough to go head up with him though. That type of reckless disregaurd for your own safety is what makes him one of the most feared hard hitters. That will earn as much respect as some of his own hits.

why are so many people trying to make excuses for him? he got lit the frick up. plain and simple. he didnt however go in high. his form was fine, he just ran into someone bigger than him. i didnt watch all of the game but he did seem to have a pretty decent game overall.

Laron got rocked. The only way he wins that battle is if he takes the guy on from the side or just acts like Deon Sanders and "O'lays" the guy. We all know that isn't Laron's style.
I even wonder if he'll make it 5 years in the NFL without some kind of major injury. Who else would take on a Mac truck with his face?

The comments about LL's ego says it all, and the results were predictable. Given Jacobs size and speed moving in one direction and LL going full in the other, the larger mass will prevail. LL tried to go Mano....opps. Any other DB would have gone for his lower center of mass and taken his legs out. LL was not thinking clearly BEFORE or AFTER the hit. Poor decision...yes Bitch...hell no.

Watch it again. He took a forearm to the head. Also Jacobs right knee was coming forward to compound the blow after the forarm. Below the knees would have been prudent.

Then I would suggest that you get your eyes checked.

uh huh. you're right. tackling someone right above the kneecaps = going in high. what was i thinking.

I think that you are trying to add insult to injury. He took a forearm to the head, a knee to the chest and then SKILLFULLY used his fallen body to tackle Jacobs.

Laron is a great hitter, but if you look at the video, you can see his tackling style on that hit was all wrong. he tried to go into his body and from the looks of it wrap his arms around his legs or body and take him down. a big no-no when tackling large backs like that, I dislocated my ankle in HS trying to tackle a much larger player like that, I only weighed 160 at that time, but i wrapped him up and tried to pick him up and body slam him, he was well over 200 and my ankle cracked like a tree branch.
Laron should have just delivered a violent hit from the side, if it didn't bring him down, at least he would have bounced off him and lived to hit another day.

IF YOU GIVE ALL THE TIME SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO RECIEVE

LL did his job slow down the runner and wait for help. In fact it looked like he knocked him off balance which made it easier for the other guy to tackle him. It reminds me of when Steve Atwater got run over by Christian Okoye. The next play Atwater blew Okoye up. (Similiar weight differences) A safety is not designed to take down running backs of that size.

Hey LaRon, try this next time
Nice comparison. Atwater went high enough to get leverage to redirect to force upward. LL went into the center of the mass+velocity=OUCH.
