I think using the state $$$ to backstop the buyout was what got Landry involved … and rightly so . I can’t believe that Tate and BOS let that clause go in the contract

The same language was Orgeron's contract, and Miles's, and every other LSU coach. The only difference if you didn't have a blowhard governor virtue signaling that fact under the auspices of "protecting the taxpayers". The contracts are always made between the LSU and the coach. Technically, the taxpayers could have been on the hook for the buyouts of any prior LSU coach. But they weren't because private money hires the coach and pays the coach. There's not going to be a contract between "(insert new HC) and Todd Graves", unless the HC is also planning to hold a night job at Raising Cane's

But Landry is savvy enough to know MANY ill-informed bozos will believe "I think using the state $$$ to backstop the buyout was what got Landry involved … and rightly so . I can’t believe that Tate and BOS let that clause go in the contract."...which allows him to virtue signal as a "champion of the taxpayers", even though he's fighting a battle for the taxpayers that doesn't actually exist

Because football doesn’t run the state. Blanco getting elected triggered Emmert hitting the eject button on LSU. For all the pissed off ranters, Landry can point to Hyundai, Meta, and the LNG terminal as multi billion investment/jobs that never would’ve happened under JDE. We likely have 6 more years of this.

BS….. this guy is a moron. He is also 100% responsible for the reduction of the pogie boat buffer zone so if you love fishing the coast and LSU sports he is the enemy.

OK , I stand corrected . But the problem was running after lincoln Riley … then running out of time ( being played by his agent ) , then jumping at Kelly , offering him the huge contract , when , if you did research , he told several people he was done with coaching and only wanted to coach 3 yrs max . Knowing that , if you did any research … why would you give him a 100 million 10 yr guaranteed contract ?? LSU needed to get a list . OK , Candidate # 1 has until X time to $**t or get off the pot . On to candidate # 2 . If # 2 plays around , on to # 3 . If you cant get your guy , get a stop gap guy for fewer years and less money . I think Saban would give honest help if asked , now that he is retired from coaching a rival .

He’s definitely not.

He just can’t help himself when he sees an opportunity to step in front of a mic or camer or grab a headline. Which is a whole other problem

Respectfully, could you link the research that would disclose Kelly saying he wanted “ 3 yrs max” in coaching before we signed him to ten years?
Thanks.

No . It is hearsay , but , when you hear it repeated at his age …why give a guy in his 60’s a 10 yr deal ? Cap it at 4 to 5 yrs and go on to the next guy .

Landry is purposely sabotaging LSU

* He didnt bring in either F King or Tate, who allowed the student pool to degenerate to the level of game-day shootings on campus
* He didnt hire Woodward, who pushed all the bullshite BLM and George Floyd nonsense
* He didnt sign off on a mindless 10-year guaranteed contract to a guy within a couple years of retirement age
* He didnt send employees to spy on the football coach
* He didnt interfere with assistant hires that undermined coaches
* He didnt run off Will Wade
* He tried to bring the Tiger gameday tradition back, rather than caving to PETA, like Tate and Woodward
* He didnt hire a president for the flagship, that had ZERO prior experience
* He didnt allow Woody to bring in Franklin and another absurd contract
* He isnt the one feeding BS narratives to the media. Thats Woodys crew
* He informed everyone that there was no booster offering buy-out money and that LSU was on the hook
* He forced out Woody
* He didnt threaten to shut down sports in the entire state to get a tax passed
* He didnt enforce some BS game-day policy under covid rules in 2021

LSu was sabotaged well before he got elected. He just publicly cleaned house. Sorry your buddy Carville got his feelz hurt

The BK buyout was far higher than any coach in LSU history BK didn’t work out so Woody had to go also

I don’t know if it’s on purpose…..

But he met his Goal.

LSU cannot recruit a coach right now to the level of its Top 5 status because of that CLOWN !!!!!!

The behind-the-scenes story of how Meta's $10 billion data center came to Louisiana. It was the first night of the annual Washington Mardi Gras, and members of Gov. Jeff Landry’s new administration, just weeks removed from the inauguration, had a lot of hobnobbing and networking to do.

Ed Jimenez, an economic development executive with Entergy Louisiana, spotted Anne Villa and pulled her aside to a quiet corner. “When we get back, we’ve got to talk,” Villa recalled Jimenez saying. “‘We have a big project, and we think Louisiana can be a contender.’”

Just days earlier, Jimenez and Entergy Louisiana CEO Philip May hosted half a dozen tech executives at Entergy's headquarters in New Orleans. They were from Facebook parent company Meta.

I can’t believe people are still blaming Landry for Brian Kelly failing.

I'm struggling to figure how you are making this connection. Almost everyone here blames Kelly for Kelly failing and Landry for being an obtuse, self-aggrandizing blowhard politician.
