Landry Has Repeatedly Proved Why He Should Select LSU's Head Coach

When it comes to LSU issues, Landry has repeatedly shown that he makes wise, well-researched, and thoroughly thought out decision: Nobody understands and appreciates the delicate nuances of LSU's traditions and processes like Jeff Landry.
April 3, 2024 - When Landry learned that the LSU Women's Basketball team was not in attendance for the national anthem during the Elite 8 game against the Iowa Hawkeyes, he issued a statement saying that he believed student-athletes who aren't in attendance for the national anthem should risk losing their scholarships. Mulkey responded, "Honestly, I don't even know when the anthem was played." "We have a routine where the team comes off the court at the 12-minute mark, and we do our pre-game stuff." Baton Rouge sports journalist Chessa Bouche posted on social media that neither the LSU football or women's basketball teams are on the field and court for the anthem saying, "this wasn’t a one time incident. Clarifying for the national media who doesn’t cover either team day in and day out.
August 28, 2924 - Despite Landry’s request that universities strip scholarships from college athletes who are not present during the national anthem, LSU announced that it will not be changing its beloved football pregame tradition: “There will not be any changes to our pre-game football processes this season,” LSU athletics spokesman Zach Greenwell said in a statement. Landry spokesperson Kate Kelly declined to comment on LSU’s decision.
November 9, 2024 - A tiger was wheeled inside of Tiger Stadium before LSU's game against Alabama. The tiger was not LSU's mascot, Mike VII; rather, the impostor tiger was imported from Florida to fulfill the wishes of Jeff Landry. The animal was reportedly owned by a man with a history of citations from the US agriculture department over a lack of proper care for his animals. Landry's efforts with the impostor tiger nearly duplicated LSU's traditions except in every significant factor. Alabama routed LSU 42-13.
October 27, 2025 -Landry announced, “We’re here on campus, next to Mike the Tiger, and we’re going to put a challenge out to the LSU Board of Supervisors to find a place to put a statue of Charlie Kirk to defend the freedom of speech on college campuses. Come on, ladies and gentlemen. Let’s see if we can be the first campus to do it.” Notably, Charlie Kirk is not from Louisiana, did not graduate from LSU, and never attended LSU or any other Louisiana institution of higher learning."
October 30, 2025 - Landry announces that LSU won't offer guaranteed contracts anymore:: “Legitimately, I think everyone is in agreement here in the state of Louisiana that the next coach we hire is gonna have a totally different contract,” Landry said. “These big-name coaches are big names because they win. What are they afraid of? If you’re the best, you shouldn’t have to worry. You say ‘Guess what? I’m putting my reputation on the line and when I win, this is how much money I want.’
“There’s no guarantee. The way the contracts are structured now, in five years the guy can get tired of doing it and not have to worry about coaching. As long as I go through the motions, I get another five years at $10 million a year. It’s not a bad gig. If you’re giving entertainment to ESPN and we don’t enjoy watching you, guess what happens? You lose sponsors. That’s the free market.”
Landry is a man of foresight. Landry is a man of wisdom. Landry should select LSU's next football head coach and negotiate that coach's contract.

Brian Kelly actually did that. Hate him or love him, Landry has a valid point.

Yes, we get it. No one likes this little shite.
What we need is another thread about him, giving him more attention.

Landry is a political whore, who likes to insert his uninformed opinions into places where they don't belong.

I think Kelly would still be head coach if it was up to Woody

Excellently written. With 26 down votes Louisiana’s public school system strikes again. These idiots don’t know what the word satire means!
