One of the fastest players on the team… wouldn’t call that a possession guy

Everyone moves at the same speed sitting on the bench.

Shame he could never crack the lineup. I thought he was extremely underrated in HS recruiting. Good luck on your future wherever you go Ibieta.

He’s not a possession receiver. He’s more of a speed guy. No lunch pale with this one.

That one guy who kept posting that he was the next Randy moss is going to be pissed

I mean he could still be a great player, but we have about 5 players at his position and size that are likely better athletes. He got great reviews at camp.

We always seem o have such a log jam at receiver. You’ve got Sampson who has sat for 2 years now too. I really thought at 6’4 he would break through at some point.

He plays about as tough as wet toilet paper.

Perhaps. Didn't his dad play baseball there?

What about a guy in his third year in the program without seeing the field leads you to make this statement?

This type of transfer has been happening forever.

Exactly. This is literally what the transfer portal was made for. Starters at a school entering the transfer portal is the problem, not some kid that just wants to play.

My understanding is his fit is the aaron anderson role but obviously that is Aaron Anderson’s.

Good luck to him

From the advocate

quote:

LSU could bring back senior CJ Daniels, redshirt sophomore Aaron Anderson, redshirt junior Chris Hilton and junior Zavion Thomas at the top of the wide receiver room next season. It has four more scholarship receivers on the roster and three currently committed in the 2025 class.

I wish him well, but seems from the above, the WR room is pretty crowded and with talent coming in, this is in his best interest.

None of whom have exactly set the world on fire. With althis year's pretty run of the mill receiving corps it seems a shame that he never got a chance.

Not sure about his dad, but his uncle played baseball there, aunt played volleyball there, cousin would've been QB1 there like 3 separate times but has had 4 separate season ending injuries and is done at Tulane (Justin), and other cousin played volleyball there.

His other cousin, and sibling of the Ibietia at Tulane, is a walk on DL at LSU who was honored for a health issue during the Ole Miss game - Jake Ibieta.

Conversely, what does it say about him if he couldn't even earn a chance with this year's pedestrian receiving corps?

I think the question surrounding Ibieta is how injured was he this season because thats certainly been an issue with him constantly.

But getting on the field in 1 game for 3 snaps on offense certainly paints the picture he was buried way down the depth chart. Behind Lacy, Daniels, Anderson, Thomas, Hilton, Sampson, Parker and even walk on Javen Nicholas.

The WR Corp was fine. It was the QB

Lacy
Anderson
Daniels
Mason Taylor

Are all nfl players. Why is everyone so nutty about this?
