NIL promises that LSU failed to keep
The first problem here is that LSU isn't paying players, NIL is completely independent of LSU
LSU is a university who has a football team
NIL is all about private fund raising...
a player and a business make some kind of deal independent of LSU coaches or the university.
that's not to say there isn't a collective strategic plan to fund raise and land players...that is spear headed by someone with strong LSU ties...
but the truth of it is the University isn't writing the checks.
LSU didn't screw the Heard family...
if I am wrong then please point it out where I am wrong how this NIL money works

Honestly, frick that guy. Clearly he thinks he should just be handed a starting role

According to poster VerbalKint who claims to know the family really well its not ab starting at LT but NIL promises that LSU failed to keep
IF true, wish him the best. LSU needs to spend wisely and kids need to earn the bigger deals, IMO.
The message should be NIL is just a stepping stone, LSU will get you to the league better than most.

What a joke. Dude has enormous potential but i guess he wants things handed to him. We have one of the best LT in the country, wait your turn then its all yours for your money year to show the NFL

Yeah i mean, IDK. It is what it is. OL are very sought after in the portal. Its a #s game. Supply and demand.
If he can go out and command 6 figures right now in the portal i do not blame him. Get that bag

so let me say ...Tiger Bait!

Why would they. He hasn’t earned a spot. You want equal money take their position.
Not saying LSU should, just that it is a likely motivation to hit the Portal. I hate what CFB has become as much as anyone, but this is the world we live in now.

Dont forget Sage Ryan hit the portal or at least threatened to before pulling his name out. This might be a negotiating tactic by big Lance.
Again.. times are a changing. If we cant or refuse to pay the going rate for a starting LT to keep him on board... who's to blame him.

It's about playing time.
The kid knows he's damn good and wants to show the rest of the world his abilities. Can't blame him and love the confidence.
It's rare a future 1st round LT sits for 2 years

He’s not a starting LT.
He couldn’t unseat the starting LT.

I have no issue with Heard leaving.

it was often brought up “well Will Campbell is making this much” “i was a 5 star too” etc. Heard is a great talent but doesn’t seem to be a fit with his perspective on things
So we’ll be seeing him at Bama.

Nick Saban managed these problem really well for years
but now we have NIL to contend with

Once Saban watches film on his LT play, he is going to go after Heard hard. Wow was bama LT awful last night.
Posted on 1/2/24 at 1:18 pm to mwade91383
Hope he fails wherever he goes.

Apparently not good enough to start at LT.
Seems more like “I’m going to take my ball and go home” type of guy when he doesn’t get what he wants immediately. Selfish player.

If there's one position I think we shouldn't stress over, it's OL.
Seems we're set there for the next few years, even though we'll lose a lot of talent next year.

TBH, this is my main problem. Well, probably the transfer portal first, then this.
This is the system these players have, I won't fault them for taking advantage of it and doing what's best for their future. If he's able to get more money or playing time, good for him!

Louisiana kid with 1st round talent on the OL hurts no matter how you slice it. He was going to get a ton of PT for us and probably be our LT in 2025.
making a stupid decision here
