It is odd. Why not just enjoy the ride and be a part of something special. That’s not better than sitting at home watching on TV?
Who knows? Maybe he hates his position coach, or he doesn’t get along with the other running backs. Maybe he has a woman in NOLA, and he’s getting it steady for the first time.

He has a year of eligibility left if he "redshirts" this year. He would have played in four or less games. By quitting now, he still has the option of playing elsewhere as a grad transfer next year.
Already used his RS. He’s done.

Well said. Kudos to him for his time at LSU but certainly understand him moving on. Life is bigger than football.

bullshite. You start the season, you finish the season. Y’all hypocrites are only cool with this because he’s 4th or 5th string. You feel the same way if Brennan bounced? We are a couple of bad breaks from Lanard having to play a lot. Do not respect this decision at all (on its fave). You start, you finish. You don’t abandon your teammates.

But Carl, that's not what Lanard wanted to do. Don't you realize that accepting a scholarship to play football for this season doesn't really obligate him to do anything? Because what he wants for himself is the only thing that matters, and we don't have any right to judge him as a pathetic quitter, just because he got mad and quit when he didn't get the carries that he wanted in the Vanderbilt game.

i wish him the best, but can anyone remember a guy leaving midyear while he's getting playing time just to 'move on with this life'?
kinda strange
Starting CB, Buffalo Bills, last year. Says he still doesn't regret it.

So, he's just quitting football? OK. Bye.
Yep we have a real dumb arse here folks

i'm disgusted.
No team spirit.

Fortunately, Lanard doesn't work for you.

Hate to see him go but it was kind of obvious that either Lanard or Curry wasn’t going to make it thru the season.
Then if we sign Evans, Curry will be gone after this season!

He may manage Leonard’s recording label.

Um. Did you just not follow, or is this thread like a funeral where you are supposed to lie and talk about the subject in the most glowing way possible.
He wasn’t toxic, but to say “no reports” is just wrong. He has been arrested, and released on bond at least once.

Doesn't sound like it. If this decision makes him happy, good for him.

Good luck Lanard. Thanks you.

I just hope it’s not a decision made secondary to some unforeseen issue coming down the pipeline.
Not saying I think it’s the case here, but sometimes you’ll see out of the blue decisions like that then weeks or months later you find out the real reason all over the news.

i dont blame him
coaches probably told him before the season started that he would be getting more carries and have more of a presence on the field and thats obviously not the case
