Since they can lose their license to operate over stuff like that, yes.

Do we make mistakes? Sure. This wasn't a dumb simple mistake though. It took some predetermined decision making.
He put himself above others depending on him. You are a gifted NCAA football player. You chose to jeopardize that. Arrogance has no place on my team.

Place was a dump. I can think of much better risks/rewards.

Mascona is one happy dude right now. Dude loves to rip on LSU when something like this goes down.

A little over kill by ebrso to actually arrest him over this. Simply removing him from the property would have been fine.

We should not judge unless we have never sinned. Why arrest him. A summons would have sufficed. This is between the Team and his family.Whack this thread and my God have mercy on the judges on this forum.

This is not a big deal. Tons of college kids get popped with fake IDs.

And people talking about his brother making Lanard recognizable are laughable. Nobody knows who Lanard Fournette is in public without a name on his jersey.

While technically true, cops do exercise discretion all the time. How many times has someone been stopped for speeding and simply been given a warning? They were breaking the law, yet they were not punished in accordance with penalty set forth in the law. The reason is because the offense is so minor the cop feels justified in issuing a warning and moving on to something more serious. Nobody is implying the authorities involved had a duty to warn Fournette and let him go, but they certainly had the opportunity.

You do know the cops didn't magically appear. They were called and asked to press charges. If y'all want to be mad at anyone that he was arrested be mad at the casino for CALLING the cops instead of letting him go.

Are you serious, Clown? Sure, we'll provide him with special favors enhancing his already arrogant attitude.
Are you actually trying to throw religion on this? We are ALL sinners...so why should anyone be arrested?

With the money his brother just signed for, what the heck does he need to be worried about gambling for. This culture, I swear

Here's what I want to know: how and why did hotel security let him in? I woulda thought they'd be better at denying people entry with a fake ID (even if it was someone else's real ID).

When I worked at the casino during college they were not, but things might have changed or low level employees weren't aware. Either way the security guards notified the police and that's the problem.

From my knowledge they could bark up the wrong tree denying entrance and being incorrect on the id being fake. They would rather let him in the handle it. Typically they would call a manager and he would handle it, clearly this time they called the police to handle it. I have a guess as to why.

Pretty sure a large casino like L'auberge has a ZERO tolerance policy on fake IDs...people need to understand not only does a fake ID allow you to gamble, but it also allows you to drink nearly unlimited quantities of free alcohol. Folks are upset because he is an asset to their favorite football team.
