When Jones comes back, take out Moore and insert Jones. Obviously, Jones playing 2B and Katz at 1st.
I do have full faith in PM tho

Sorry for being disrespectful. What was your 1st question? I have no problems with PM. I love this team. I just think to win the whole thing we need to make one adjustment and that is shifting Laird to bottom of the batting order. After this week every game counts and to maximize this teams ability I think that's the 1 move that should be made. This is not a me against you thread btw not sure how that started.

Rhymes grounds into doubles too much. Laird isn't a double play risk in the 2 hole.

Laird grounds out a ton, too. Beating out double plays still kills rallies coming from your 2 hitter. I'd take my chances with Rhymes who's hitting .350+.

He is not your prototypical 2 hole hitter and he is NOT a good bunter. He is your prototypical leadoff guy but he can't hit.
Edit: and McMullen is your prototypical 2 hole hitter but we have no leadoff guy.

Only problem is he's not really a good bunter.
I cringed when he tried bunting with Mclovin on.
Keep him in the lineup, between 7 and 9 hole.

Mainieri s going with as much speed in the OF as he can the rest of the season. He's not going to change it, so Stevenson is probably going to keep starting. You certainly want speed out there in a park like the one in Hoover.

Ding, ding. Dude made some timely hits in the A&M series and is making decent contact. Could use some work on getting stronger/improving bat speed.
From a fan's perspective, is anything more frustrating than having a coach instruct a batter, especially one that should be an above average bunter and has had a lot of opportunities, to move a man over with no outs and watch two failed bunt attempts and then a swinging or called 3rd strike. Damn, just play with 2 outs per inning. Then I remember MLBers suck at bunting quite frequently.
When you go 8 innings without manufacturing a run with a good offensive team what are you doing? The answer is one inning better than Bama.
