la'el should be playing more. barksdale played his freshman year.

I would rather trust the judgment of the coaches. Lael will play significant minutes when he's ready. CLM has proven numerous times at his time at LSU he will play True Freshmen IF they are ready to play.

This is one of the issues in recruiting elite players. Lael has to make a decision. Does he want to play immediately for a lower level program or be patient and be an anchor for an elite program.

Yeah, you're playing for the #1 team in the nation, your hometown team, and are complaining about playing time? Sounds like a crybaby who needs to run a lot of sprints during the bye week.

I don't feel he should start at all. I just don't see why he hasn't been on the field more at guard late in these blowouts...especially with the injuries and hobbled starters.

Agreed X 1000 (and I would include Mett, TM14, et al in this group).

Twitter is a really bad thing for college student/athletes to use, as some are prone to post the first thought that pops up in their head. Would be wise to forgo the twitter thing.

I agree. I hate Twitter and Twitter hates LSU.

I cant imagine how hard it is for a competitor like La'el. I mean I remember playing ball and you want to win but it sucks not to contribute. I hope this young man keeps his head high and knows that the hard work he puts in now will pay off later.

There is likely a VERY good reason Les has not played this kid. One great hint is this fricking immature dirty laundry. Make no mistake, Les is aware of this pathetic outreach. I say let his arse walk if he wants.

He aint ready and needs to grow the frick up!

did he play on sat? if not, then he should be pissed.

You think it could have something to do with his attitude...the very attitude he is displaying right now?

The coaches ask the kids to do a certain number of things. They have to go to class, keep up in the classroom, work hard, focus, etc.

There have been many examples of kids that were talented, but just weren't mature enough to take on a large role early in there careers. And, then magically, a couple of years down the road, they figure it out and become the player everyone expected they would be.

Kids mature when they are ready to mature. You can't make it happen. My guess is La'El, while physically ready, is not mentally ready.

It was very similar situation with Shep. He was not happy with playing time and spouted off the week leading up to the FL game and he never saw the field that game. He changed his attitude after that

Tweeting has made those times along with out thoughts public...not good IMHO

Hell, I don't want one for this reason. Temporary thoughts become permanent fodder.

IMO, it's not just that La'El hasn't seen more PT. Against AU, we were up 6TD's with about 13 minutes to go in the 4th.

Why wasn't Mett, Magee, etc playing from that point on?

Where do y'all think he fits in? One of the T's? If that's the case he's gotta out-work Faulk or Hurst next year. Unless he plays LT and Faulk gets moved to G or something. Which I don't see?

Not a bad reason.

Good thing Twitter wasn't available 30 years ago. Some kids would have been killed.
