Where does La'el get the balls to tell the GMs of the NFL that he's worth/deserves that 4 million dollars? If he goes back into the draft in 2016 I wouldn't be surprised to see those GMs pass on him again because of his sense of entitlement
That's just crazy talk. Teams want to win.

entitlement? I don't blame him one bit for this. If he has nothing to do with this murder why should he have to play for well below his worth?

Really? It's a league full of entitled players, how many chances did Randy Moss get AFTER he said he will only play when he wants to play.
NFL cares about one thing and one thing only CAN YOU PLAY THE GAME. And if they think he can ESPECIALLY given these unique circumstances i'm willing to bet that whatever GMs liked him this year in the first round will like him again next year in the first round. Once again he isn't a malcontent sitting out he has completely unique cirumstances surrounding him.
For those that think sitting out a year is a death sentence and wont give me that DGB is probably a good example given the fact that he couldn't play football besides practicing bc he was KICKED OFF a team, how do you account for Michael Vick?
Micheal Vick went away to PRISON for 2 years and came back and was signed to a contract. La'el could sit out a year be much closer to football than Michael Vick during vicks TWO years off and come back without NEARLY the stench that vick had (assuming he's innocent) and be just fine.

It really is starting to look like he will not get drafted. Something really strange is going on. I'm starting to get a feeling that he (La'el) is hiding something. Why would you not get this cleared up, if you knew last weekend that they wanted to talk to you. Maybe he is trying to protect someone?

But here’s the thing. A straw poll conducted this morning of a handful of coaches, General Managers, and other team executives resulted in a unanimous belief that Collins still won’t be drafted. At all.
and thats before it came out that he might pull out after the 3rd round .... have to ask yourself what do they know that we don't?

Bad mistake on Collins' part.
Anybody remember John Fourcade from Ole Miss, saying if he wasn't a first rounder don't bother? 4 or 5 rds in, he was on ESPN backtracking big-time, saying he just wanted to play, and would be grateful for any chance. Went undrafted.
Collins isn't entitled to jack shite, and I get the impression he thoroughly antagonized the entire league with that ultimatum.

Sorry if this was covered but looks like re-entering the draft next year is not an option. He will simply be a FA. Really sucks for this kid.

shite yeah, where does a uppity black man get off telling these rich white men whats what.
And he is a young black guy so you know he is guilty of something right?

maybe, but it might be that they don't want the public relations risk if in fact they draft him and it turns out he is not innocent.

stfu racist.
I don't blame teams for not taking a PR risk on him right now. Something is not adding up. If Collins is in fact completely innocent, I'd be loud and consistently telling the world that I'm innocent. Something is definitely up here, it appears. Maybe it's just me, but if I'm truly innocent, I would firmly make that stand/statement, and be very vocal.

He has to be drafted I guess to not sign w team in order to go back to draft
Posted on 5/1/15 at 10:18 pm to Brettesaurus Rex
Won't get drafted next year either.

you'd think if his agent was even minimally competent he would maybe check these type of things out before releasing them ....

Well looks like some team will be calling his bluff if they choose him tomorrow.

because he has no eligibility left, if he's drafted and sits out, then at the expiration of the teams draft rights to him, he'd just be a FA...
basically, he's in a super fricked like chuck situation....

Could he possibly apply for a special circumstances exemption once his name is cleared and get picked up in the 2nd round ? Some team would surely gamble a 2 next year once they verify he isn't involved?

There is no provision for something like this. Either 1) he will be drafted and some team retains rights to sign him and after that time period, if he's not under contract, he becomes a FA or 2) no drafts him and he comes a FA.
