One more time.

He passed illegally as traffic was coming right at him from a blind curve. The SB truck swerved right to avoid him as he was merging back into the NB lane at high speed. The car behind that truck had nowhere to go as the SB lane was now partially blocked by the truck and the NB lane was occupied by the victim. She veered toward the gap between the victim and the truck, hitting the the victim.

The accident doesn’t happen if Lacy doesn’t illegally pass. It’s not hard.

People are looking for excuses for him when no personal accountability was shown

People can say what they want about me, but I knew kyren had zero personal accountability after his stunt in the USCw game.. dude gets flagged for a personal foul, for shooting an imaginary gun (imagine that), then they showed the clip of him on the sidelines bragging to his teammates about what he did

Dude was a clown. Yall can say what you want and try to prop him up as a saint just because he passed away, but it’s true. Dude had horrible decision making skills and never showed any remorse for what he did.

You can blame a lot of things… social media, gun culture, rap music, etc… but until we start holding young people completely accountable for their actions, you can keep expecting tragedies like this to occur. I wish someone could have got to him before it got this out of control

You may be right, but what facts at all have been shared regarding the accident that prove Lacy caused it?

I haven’t seen a single thing.

it also doesn’t happen if she doesn’t drive like a fricking morin.

You’re saying she was trying to fit between the truck that was in front of her heading SB and the victim who was heading NB.

if that’s not a car width, she should have stopped. and if the truck could stop, then legally she should have been able to slow down enough to keep from rear ending it.

that’s the law

Are you a lip reader as you know what he "bragged" to his teammates?

CBK addressed that yesterday about how much he had grown during the season with impulse control. He isn't the only football player to have ever done something on the field of play that ended up costing the team 15 yards. What about the FU guy who threw LSU player's shoe? Not a gun but another dumb penalty. He was probably laughing with his teammates too.

thank you for clarification

Attorney is bowing up..

I get it, it was an accident that he "saw in front of him"

but he leaves out the part that Lacey was traveling fast and was attempting an illegal pass...

an accident caused by a driving violation...multiple one's..

speeding and attempting to pass in a double yellow into a blind curve

mercy me...

knowing he caused the accident but he didn't stop to check on people...

sure- people see accidents and decide well, it "looks like someone is already checking on them"....and they drive off

but if you know you caused people to crash, I mean you stop and do whatever you can to help people..

I get it, he was scared and paniced...

sucks for all involved

just should not have happened

He was arrested, correct?

Why was he arrested? The attorney claims not a single charge has been brought by the DA, but he was supposed to be in front of a grand Jury on Monday, so- what was that all about if "he did nothing?"...

We know he had to turn himself the next day upon counsel, is that correct or not?

It made the newspapers... so that's just joe blow just seeing an accident, it's a football player speeding and causing an accident

That's the short of it or is that not correct?

Agreed. As someone who has felt the pressure of the legal system in the family, you are spot on. I’ve witnessed first hand the condemnation from those that don’t know but think they know. I’ve had to deal with the heartache of telling a good kid falsely accused to shut out the noise and let things play out. Until you’ve sat and comforted a panicked young’un waiting on a grand jury decision, you should leave opinions in your head and let the judicial system work things out.

It wasn't just whites. Many ethniticies eople going on dad's and KL's social media accounts calling KL a murderer and making it a huge deal that a reir3d marine was murdered (that Herman's death matters more than had it been you or me). It should be a big deal that anyone was killed but it was as the attorney said... a witch hunt

1. You don't know the ethnicities of TD users.

2. Go look at Kenny Lacy, Kyren Lacy, CBK, any sportscaster including Jacques Doucet and read all of the nasty comments. It was not all white people.

You would've thought Lacy slapped a Father during mass. Even with all the stories because they're just that where is the "innocent until proven guilty." I'm just shocked at how quickly these Google School of Law lawyers just came out of the cracks.

Has no one ever been arrested for something they weren’t guilty of? That’s never happened?

Again, I don’t know if he is guilty or not. But there’s a process for a reason and everyone is acting like they’ve seen a video of him causing the accident.

Where are you getting this from? That isn’t what happened. No one stopped. If you are just going to make shite up, what’s the point of this back and forth?

She should have stopped.

you’re talking about threading the needle between the truck and the car she hit.

Why is that an issue? She should be able to stop or slow down enough to jsut not hit the truck.

Wasn't the driver that hit the Halls coming from the blind curve? Am I understanding that correctly?

How far is it from the blind curve to where the accident took place?

Update* Investigation Leads to Negligent Homicide Arrest Warrant for Driver in Fatal Lafourche Parish Crash

Published: 01-10-2025 | Category: Troop C

On January 12, 2025, Kyren Lacy met with Troopers and was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on charges related to the arrest warrant.

Lafourche Parish - On December 17, 2024, Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 20 near Perez Lane. The crash claimed the life of 78-year-old Herman Hall of Thibodaux, LA.

The investigation revealed that the crash occurred as a 2023 Dodge Charger was traveling south on LA Hwy 20. The driver of the Dodge, later identified as 24-year-old Kyren Lacy of Thibodaux, recklessly passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed by crossing the centerline and entering the northbound lane while in a designated No-Passing Zone. As Lacy was illegally passing the other vehicles, the driver of a northbound pickup truck abruptly braked and swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the approaching Dodge. Traveling behind the pickup was a 2017 Kia Cadenza whose driver swerved left to avoid the on coming Dodge Charger. As the Kia Cadenza took evasive action to avoid impact with the Dodge, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento. Following the crash, Lacy drove around the crash scene and fled south on LA Hwy 20 without stopping to render aid, call emergency services, or report his involvement in the crash. Troop C was later notified that Hall, who was a passenger in the Kia Sorrento, succumbed to his injuries from the crash after being transported to a hospital for treatment.

Troopers and LSP Detectives continued the investigation into the crash and through investigative means were able to identify the Dodge Charger and determine that Lacy was driving at the time of the crash. As a result of the investigation, Troopers obtained an arrest warrant for Lacy through the Lafourche Parish 17th Judicial Court for LA RS 14:32 negligent homicide, LA RS 14:100 felony hit and run, and LA RS 14:99 reckless operation of a vehicle. Troopers are in communication with Lacy and his legal representation to turn himself in.

Because no one has ever reported that anyone stopped. Not one. Ever. You are driving right behind someone in traffic at 40ish MPH and they abruptly slam on their brakes and swerve half out of the lane. You are hitting something. Thousands of accidents go down like this every year.

I don’t know what’s more unbelievable. Your self proclaimed reflexes or the braking capacity of your car.
