The DA office made the decision to charge him and have LSP arrest him, LSP could not have made charges or arrest without DA’s office giving the ok to move forward so not sure what kind of gamesmanship is being played
Based on shitty work done by LSP that was clearly biased for whatever reason. They took the person most responsible for the crash's story as fact and then tried to forced everyone else's statements to fit that.
For whatever reason that was, that is what happened.

is there a video or picture that illustrates how all this went down?
Here is my best shot at very precise locations of the scene of the accident and illustrating where kyren was and coming from and illustrating the proximity. There's been a lot of misinformation talk about the turn and distances of such. This clearly illustrates that kyren's near entire illegal passing action was in straight shot view shortly in front of the gold truck.
Red circle = scene of accident best guess based on pics
Gold line under is yellow truck heading north.
white line under is funyon tailgater
Up above, the neon green line in oppo lane is 123 yards ahead distance. That is the exact spot that the attorney said kyren BEGAN his merge back into his correct lane. The next blue dot is when kyren was completely in his lane (92 yds) and the pink dot was his precise location the moment of the accident. (72 yds)
The orange circled area is all parts of the puzzle we don't know. We know he passed up four cars. We don't know how erratically or how fast kyren was driving etc. We don't know much at all about kyren's rate of speed. But whatever it was, we are talking about from neon green line to pink dot was probably LESS than 2 seconds to the MOMENT of the accident, not the moments of the reactions of 2 people reacting to Kyren.
Also of note, we are dealing with a straight way of nearly 400 yards (just from scene of accident, not from where gold truck was 2 seconds prior). So pretty much most of kyren's illegal passing was in the straight way in direct view of oncoming traffic. But again, little info was presented from his attorney about that including rate of speed etc.
ETA BELOW:
view from approximately right where the gold truck was braking and right before the moment where funyon swerved left into oncoming lane.
The back of the 18 wheeler looking vehicle ahead in right lane is right around the spot where Kyren Lacy was absolutely STILL in the oncoming wrong lane coming at the gold truck at an unknown rate of speed right after passing up 4 vehicles..

Dude you really having a hard time following chain of events huh. Or you re just an absolute frickin moron. The girl cause all of this not lacy

Inaccurate for sure….if an oncoming car, 75 yards away, was taking a left into a driveway, would they have been charged wih the same crime? The truck that braked reacted to seeing a car over 100 yards away moving back into the correct lane.

that helps but who hit who?

the white line at very bottom hit an oncoming car heading south (down ward) in the oncoming lane. The other vehicle involved in accident who died would have been right above red circle head down. White line swerved left in picture to avoid hitting gold line truck braking.

No he's not. I played ball with Matt when we were kids and he and his family are some of the most solid and good people you would ever know.
Oh ok if you say so
Gimme a break with that backwoods small town BS

Got it...so tailgating funyon eater hit the vehicle whose occupant died?
So, she veered left because the vehicle in front of her slowed down, and the vehicle in front of her slowed down because he saw Kyren in his lane at some point?

The speed limit is 40 from the curve to the tree line. It was reported he was speeding and passing cars presumably going 40, so we can assume somewhere faster than 40.
Posted on 10/6/25 at 11:54 am to Chad504boy
so how fast was everyone driving?
Posted on 10/6/25 at 11:54 am to Vacherie Saint
And to pass 4 cars… you’d have to be moving pretty high rate of speed. Which also leads to the thought that some of those drivers were irate at kyren

Funyon was going 49.6 pretty much for 5 seconds.
It was said gold truck averaged 28 mph for this very short distance (maybe 120 yds or so) he was on highway 20
Any more specifics from that point is really not known

It drops from 50 to 40 at the church, then back to 50 at the tree line. So Somewhere around 40 assuming no one was turning off onto one of those side streets or businesses.

The DA should have announced within a short period of time that Lacy was not a person of interest in this death.
It was the correct thing to do and Lacy would have played in an NFL game yesterday.

Thanks for the local knowledge, Saint. What's the verdict among locals you talk to about this?

Devastated for Kyren. We haven’t had a local pro come through LSU in years and everyone was rooting for him.
But lots of folks here know Ory is slime, and we understand that while Kyren wasn’t trying to hurt anyone, making a 4 car pass right there is stupid and was ultimately the lynchpin for the accident.
I just wish Ory would take this to court instead of grandstanding and agitating on social media. He’s going to get himself and this community in a real bind if he keeps this up.
