1000% acceptable....

"suck a tiger dick"
this isn't even debatable. I'm sure there will be students that try to justify it. But there's a line you don't cross when you know there are kids in the area. My point is that 99% of these students need to know that and act like it.

Who are these priggish, dainty souls who are mortally offended by obscene words?
LSU is on TV a lot.
LSU gets a lot of money from being on TV.
LSU likes money.
TV does not want organized swearing going out over the airwaves.
Is that simple enough for you to understand?

No, I can "see" how others would be offended, the same way I can "see" that they must be relatively sancitmonious, prudish, timid human beings harboring antiquated, outmoded, and decidely quaint world views.
What would the average, sound-minded Tiger fan find reasonable? I sincerely doubt 'sucking a dick' statement (or any variation thereof) belted across the stadium by thousands of students that can be heard on broadcasted tv would be deemed, "reasonable."
There are forums where that would be appropriate; a University sponsored event with considerable families and people present who don't want to hear your "right" to be vulgar isn't one of them.

Your stubbornness and stupidity is really f*ing things up.
You bitch when the band quits playing Ow-ee-oo, yet you refuse to stop saying "You suck" when that is what killed it. They keep trying to bring it back, and you repeatedly screw up the fun.
well, simple solution then right?
make them stop.
I'll wait while you do that.

The simple solution is to not allow students in the game.

Are you suggesting that LSU is at risk of losing its SEC television contract because of student swearing? Or that LSU is acting at the behest of television networks when it bans songs?
Seriously?
I don't think CBS is going to give up its hardwon SEC TV contract, its ratings, and advertising revenue because the LSU students put fellatio into a cheer.
That's just...words escape me.

This is ironic, since one could reach the same conclusion about those haughty babes who are offended by swearing: if it offends you, don't go to the game.
You're an idiot.
It has nothing to do with other fans complaining. It has to do with LSU and more importantly the sponsors and TV execs don't want to hear it.
Go ahead and tell sponsors and TV people to shove it, see what happens...

I would agree with this.
And before students start crying foul, I said this same thing when I was a student...and I don't participate in the immature chant additions.
Ban all the students for one game, TAF can resell their tickets to the general public (make a very, very sizeable profit). That would piss me off as a student enough to police other students to stop.

WGAS. Neck is a terrible song and cheer.

Repeating mindless insults doesn't make your argument any more valid.

I don't think CBS would turn us down for coverage, but how would you feel if they decided to air EVERY game at 11am until students learned?
They always say night games are rowdy because the fans have had all day so booze it up, so logically moving the games up to 11am would curve some of that.

I believe something like this happened at Georgia.

Calling you an idiot is the only insult I've said.
Also, ignoring my argument doesn't make yours any more valid either.

Supporter of "You Suck"
But I always thought that was stupid and unncessary.
Folks started ragging on me because I DIDN'T do the modifed chant.

@Extraticket
You picked a great year to graduate
@ The guy about the 30% of freshman dropping out, you are being modest. I don't think half of my freshman dorm (Herget) is still here two year later.
To everyone else,
I go to the games to have a DAMN good time. Wether that means chanting "Teabag Tebow" or "Skippy Doo Geaux LSU" I don't care. I just want the memories.

What? CBS could never unilaterally decide to move all games to 11 AM. That's impossible under the current TV contract. At the very least, it would require the collusion of several networks. Moreover, it's not economically feasible. CBS isn't going to pass on a premiere game (say LSU-Alabama) and forfeit the ratings that would result from that game in order to teach the LSU students a lesson in etiquette.

No way that happens, but if it did, I can guarantee you lawsuits and fights and mayhem would break out. Part of the reason students come here is for the tailgating/game experience. that would be interesting if the administration starts going gestapo.
As with Alleva and the boos, it's a non winning argument. Numbers will win out everytime.
to be honest, I'd be more concerned with people throwing glass bottles at a game than cursing. However, shite happens. we haven't been the only school to get caught saying profane things on tv, and we won't be the last.
I predicted this almost two weeks ago. I called it a kinetic hell, and it's going to start slowly turning into this soon.

Moving the student section to the Eastern Uppers would be epic

On what grounds? Going to LSU games isn't a right as a student. It's a privilege. Viewed strictly as a business arrangement (which for TAF it is), TAF can choose to do business with whomever it wants. If you are being rowdy and causing problems, they can refuse you service.
I'm certainly no law professional, but I don't think any pissed student would have a legal leg to stand on.
