You get the minimum for however many games you are on the MLB roster for.

I think there's some sort of sliding scale annual pay that guarantees a base minimum for moving up the pyramid that guarantees that you won't go below a certain level of pay even if you get demoted(it's been a while since I was up on that,) but he's not getting major league bucks for the year for going up for a couple of days

There is a minimum based on each minor league level. A separate minimum for guys on the 40 man roster regardless of minor league level. And then the MLB minimum, which you get 1/162 of for however many games you are on the MLB roster for.

If he never makes it to the show again he’ll still be able to retire knowing he got an RBI on every single AB in his career. Not too shabby

To be honest,

I never thought that he would get called up at all.
I was wrong.

That's a W to me

yep, that did him some good financially, minor league pay is some poverty level, indentured servitude type of pay, even worse with NIL now, college guys will be taking pay hits to go "pro"
Think of the money he could have made from his work with Dr. Pepper during today's NIL era.

my guess as to why he's hanging around in the minors as long as he has is A: trying get out from mum's shadow, and 2: because she's at least partially funding him, minor leaguers make shite for pay

He’s a legitimate fringe MLB’er. He’d be fighting for a spot regardless of his moms money. These guys don’t quit in their mid 20’s

I agree, very happy for him. Will also say, after looking at some photos of him this weekend, that he just looks weird. Don’t know what it is, but his proportions are off. My first thought after seeing pics of him and Kramer’s mom, was that if they ever film a Charli and the Chocolate factory sequel, he’d make a mean umpa lumpa….

as I said, it was my guess, but there ain't no money in being a career minor leaguer and at some point it's time to move on, I played at LSU, got invited to a couple of tryout camps, played a couple of years of "semi-pro"(very little emphasis on pro ) it lit a fire under my arse to get to pilot training and start learning how to fly jets

They'll end up with 50 innings pitched and 12 days of service.

Wah! Those poor pitchers only get $55k for 12 days. How will they survive?

When you compare it to a reliever that might get 4 inning over 14 days it looks a little different.

But sure, compare it to your fast food job and not within the context of Major League Baseball.

Same here. Didn't think he was a good enough hitter to make it to the bigs. Glad for him.

If you start the season on the MLB roster is it the same percentage of games played or are you getting MLB minimum if you get sent down?

You don't get it if you get sent down. Just for the games played while you're on the MLB roster.

The minor league minimum for a player on the 40 man roster in their first contract was around ~$45,000 and ~$90,000/year if they weren't on their first contract, but I believe those numbers increased significantly with the new CBA to $66,000 and $130,000

His head and feet are too big for his body IMO. Him having big and long hair and wearing basketball shoes retro-fitted with spikes don't help that visual either.

Really wish we could get rid of the foreign players so there’d be more room for American college guys.

Could you imagine how much more fun MLB would be if all the guys were either from college or straight out of HS?

It’s a huge turnoff for me that such a good portion of every roster can’t speak English.
