That's not updated to include last night's game. He's at 0.446 OBP after last night's 0-4 (3K) performance.

The website isn't up to date.
Kling isn't to the point of moving him to the bench. I do think the leadoff spot may be taken by Milam for now though. This may be able to help Kling's approach at the plate to be a little more aggressive earlier in the count. As a leadoff I feel he is taking until 2 strikes just in hopes of drawing a walk and get on base. Also makes the pitcher pitch more. It is great as a leadoff batter, but I think you need some type of balance to being aggressive also to get good swings on pitches. As someone else said, it almost looks like he is swinging defensively late in the count and is late. The late decision is probably the reason he looks like he pulls off a lot because by the time he decides to swing it is too late and he is speeding everything up to catch up to the pitch.

The individual game stats may be up to date but the overall cumulative stats are not.

He's not leading off for his BA
At some point he is going to have to hit. When you have guys with very similar OB% and a BA that is .100 points higher, it becomes harder to justify him leading off.

He also leads the team with 9 hit by pitches which is helping his on base percentage. It seems like he may benefit from being farther back in the lineup to work through some things.

Lol what? Look at the website. He's tied with Milam at .471 OBP (4th on the team) and hitting .255 not .235
Someone said last night that his OBP was one of the highest and stats do show that. But that person also said that he has 16 ks against scrub pitching, which is currently leading the team as well.
The reason his OBP is so high is because those scrub pitchers have hit him 9 times which also leads the team. So don't get all he is a good hitter because of his OBP.
Want to compare to Milam. Milam has 9 more hits with only 3 fewer walks. That is a completely better OBP than Kling even though the numbers are what they are. Look at total stats not just ohhh high number.
I was one at the end of last season and besides the beginning of this that was all for Kling and happy that we have him. He just isn't producing right now and hasn't all season beside a key hit here or there. He is in a slump right now and needs to get out of it. Keeping him in right now doesn't seem to be doing anything, so maybe some time to think and not have the stress of it is what he needs.

He’s putting a lot of pressure on himself.
He’ll be ok.
He’ll be ok.

Jay made an interesting comment last night.
Pitching has been so good, he doesn’t want to mess with the defense because it is playing to the pitching strengths. So I think they prob leave Kling in there for the time being. They could toy with moving him down the lineup tho

Damn you spent all of last night saying how there is no one else that can be in the leadoff spot and how it would leave a hole at the top of the order then you come out with this take?

And when the bases are empty?

How many times a game does he leadoff..... well, only once. But overall, he needs to work on hitting.

My biggest concern from last night is that he's obviously in a slump and he's swinging so hard he's falling down on a behind in the count strike 3, multiple times. No foul balls or even foul tips to indicate he's at least seeing it a little bit. He's gotta choke up and try to put the damn thing in play at some point, instead of thinking 420 ft every at bat.

Kling is watching hittable pitches and often finds himself with 2 strikes and has to swing at less desirable pitches. He needs to not look for them perfect pitch early n the count. He takes the outside edge pitches that he could nail to RC and RF.

Yeah and both sucked at the plate.
