I see a lot of people debating whether or not Chaisson will come back. Some say that his lack of production in college will hurt him while others say he will test so well at the Combine/Pro Day that it won't matter. Looking at Chaisson's size and position makes me wonder how he compares physically to Khalil Mack coming out of college. Mack was listed at about 6'3 251 at the 2014 combine and ran a 4.65 40 and a 1.53 10 yard split. He also posted a 40 inch vertical and 23 reps on the bench. K'Lavon is currently listed at 6'4 250 and had a 4.69 electronically timed 40 in High School. Do you think Chaisson will post comparable numbers to Mack at the Combine? I know Mack had a much more productive college career but do you think K'Lavon can have a comparable pro career to him?

No

K'Lavon has 4 sacks in his career

I just want him to do something here. I wish him the best in the NFL regardless.

Chaisson is having a ton of production this year. All fans care about is sacks, but you have to rush the passer to get sacks, and Chaisson has been dropping into coverage a lot. When he rushes he’s violent and effective. He gets pressure a lot, even though he’s had very few sacks. He looks like an NFL player playing against college teams. He’s probably a goner.

He has potential but hasn't been steady week in and week out, partly because of injuries.

K'Lavon Chaisson has played really well since coming back from the ACL. People miss how good he is but he is commanding a lot of attention these days. He is only going to get better.

This is also how people make excuses for him. He drops into coverage maybe 4-5 times a game. He does many things well, especially holding the edge and his blocks to allow the LBers to make tackles. The guy will play a long time in the NFL, I'm sure, but he has to learn to rush the passer. He is going to be a pass rusher in the nfl, that's what he will be paid to do.

Exactly. Chaisson is no where near where he needs to be technically.

He's also been 1000X better against the run than past years.

Despite the ball hitting him in the back he's done really well in coverage. Especially considering he's usually positioned to rush (to draw protection) prior to dropping back in coverage.

Anticipated combine numbers plus a 'well rounded' game, he's gone.

NFL GM's don't worry too much about production and numbers for positions such as LB. They will look at everything else in minute detail (e.g. instincts, blocker engagement, etc.). But the approach somebody with the right body and skills and say we'll mold him, coach him up and get what we need from him (Danielle Hunter anyone?).

Production numbers only push draft spot up, lack thereof rarely pushes it down [significantly].

It is amazing Darnielle was not a force at LSU but is a terror in the NFL. Some people just have different developmental paths.

If we drop K”Lavon one time into coverage against Alabama I will become anti-Aranda immediately.

Name one coverage situation that favors KLavon against their receivers. Name one. Not even following the back into the flats.

You recruited him to rush the passer. Let him do it.

Could you imagine having to fight either of them? Or Devin White. Let’s say, he slapped your mom or wife and then turned towards you. You’d have to fight him with everything you had.

I’m not sure I’d be recognizable as a human after he got finished with me.

It would take away the slant... I think that actually could be a good idea. Tua wouldn’t expect him to drop and could possibly throw it right at him.

As a friend of mine once said, “Baby if he called you a whore, you’d just have to be a whore!”

Hunter was absolutely a force. Was unblockable vs the run. He, White, and Kwon were the only ones playing well at the beginning of 2014.

I’m not Technical Football Guy, but doesn’t it create an advantage if takes a small part of the field away while two opponents are committed to blocking him, and blocking no one?
