Thanks for posting this.
Had not seen the broken ankle clip.
Fournette is scary strong.

How'd that work out for the last three teams who tried? Have you ever thought that our former NFL head coach for a coordinator knows how to exploit that both in the air and on the ground? It's stil 9 guys on 8 guys who have no idea what's coming.

we have to capitalize on Bama's mistakes unlike he did against Ole Miss that well if we are going to win

this is what ended denzel nkemdiche's season

quote:

Fournette literally breaks the ankle of the linebacker who tries to tackle him by running over him, and it takes four other defenders wrestle him to the ground.

Wasn't this about the fourth consecutive game that Fournette has literally injured an opponent who was trying to tackle him?

Doesn't matter. Bama will put 8 men in the box, there won't be holes to run thru.

Actually, in past games Bama hasn't felt the need to put 8 men in the box. They are one of the few teams in the country that have been able to slow down the LSU running game with only 7 in the box. That really clamps down on the throwing lanes if Bama can stop the run with only 7 defenders down low.

We have to be able to run on them if they don't have the extra guy down low. If not, we're in big trouble.

Come on, the offense is pretty SIMPLE, that article highlights that.

it does work against teams LSU can out muscle but this week that will be much more of a challenge. Cam and Les obviously need to throw something different in there if we LSU can't out muscle em...

players filling gaps, RBs having to anticipate a hole, cutbacks etc. Are middle school football coaching points.

I love how rantards assume that putting an extra guy in the box magically makes our run game useless.

So are things like blocking, tackling, punting. All middle school crap, so we should throw it out the window!

JEEBUS!!

What isn't?

QB reads the DE and hands off or keeps
WR runs a route, DB has to try to cover him, QB looks to see if a WR is open....DL tries to pressure QB, OL tries to block the DL

It is ALL block, tackle, catch, etc.

The successful ones (LSU is extraordinarily successful) do those fundamental things better than others.

I'll bet you that A&M fans would trade with LSU right about now

There's probably some truth to that. But if your O-line is blowing defenders out of the way, even the most simplistic of plays can be successful. However, I think even Les knows that Bama will be well coached and well disciplined to stop LSU. He won't (or shouldn't) need trick plays to win the game, but he's going to have to put more of the game on the QB if he wants to move the ball. LSU has too good of a group of WRs not to get them involved.
