I mean, considering how highly regarded he was at a young age, I would say he has been above average at Bama. I certainly wouldn't have him as a 1st team all-American.

He's just trying to create a talking point and drive traffic to the horrible Longhorn Network. They lose millions every year and ESPN has to eat those losses. It's in their best interest if Texas is "back".

Well I disagree with him - strongly. Tom Herman hasn't shown me a damn thing to make me think he can go 11 & 1 or 12 & 0 at a big program. His final season at Houston with that rinky dink schedule was 9 & 3, which was an embarrassment. Early on, I was impressed with Herman, but since that 9 & 3, I've turned a 180 on him. He's good, not great.

Agree, Texas is looking at 9 & 3, maybe 10 & 2; it's not a playoff contender.

I did not indicate he doesn't have Texas on the rise. I posted that I don't believe he can go 12 & 0 or 11 & 1 to make the playoff.

I'm as big a fan of Texas as any, but it's going to be tough beating OU this year. Hurts is going to be really good in that offense and Alex Grinch is a fantastic DC. That was a huge hire by Lincoln Riley.

OU lost four starting offensive linemen, has a big downgrade at QB, and their defense might be worse than last year’s. Most pundits around the big XII are expecting a down year for them, and think someone like Iowa State, TCU, is Oklahoma State could sneak into the conference title game

Hmm. They finished with 76 of possible 85 1st place votes by the media in the preseason Big 12 poll
They are also in most playoff predictions. Haven’t seen anyone say it’s a down year. My BIL/SIL and nephew are die hard Ou fans and their expectations are sky high.

yeah thats not going to happen.
the Big 10 will have a team taking UGA's spot. Hell, i wouldnt be surprised if the Pac 12 doesnt sneak a team in this year.

If LSU wins against Texas as they should and LSU goes undefeated and Texas goes undefeated the remaining games then Texas has a chance. If LSU loses to Texas and then goes undefeated and Texas loses a game, then no, Texas doesn't get in. There are always variables to this scenario, obviously.
