Kirk Herbstreit picks Texas to make it into the College Football Playoff.

Herbstreit's picks for the CFP:
- Alabama over Texas.
- Clemson over Ohio State.
- Alabama over Clemson in the NCG.
I'm assuming he has Clemson going undefeated, which would make Texas a #3 seed in the CFP. As if our players needed extra motivation for that game.
A few LSU players did make some of the lists included in Herbstreit's preseason "Herbie" Awards:
- "Ultiamte Game Changer" - Grant Delpit.
- "All-intangible" - Grant Delpit.
- "Welcome Back" - K'Lavon Chaisson.
- "Most Pro Ready" - Grant Delpit.
- "Best pass-rusher" - K'Lavon Chaisson.
- "Baller" - Joe Burrow.
- "Best True Freshman" - Derek Stingley Jr.

Bold pick.
I think people are overrating Texas this year. I think they'll be pretty good but next year is when I think they could be legit playoff contenders.

I could be very wrong but I don't understand all the Texas love with basically their whole team not returning

I could see a 1 loss Texas getting in. Especially given that their only loss would come early in the season and to team that ends their season ranked #1.

Not that crazy a pick. They have two games against opponents with higher preseason rankings, and those games are both in Texas, and the B12CG is in Texas. Their path to the playoff takes them out of state twice—to ISU 
and WVU.
