Pretty sure if lsu would’ve dropped a game to Arkansas and dropped a game to ucla . But won the elimination game vs Arkansas pretty sure it would be a 1 game series? Could be wrong tho ??

What in the world? Lay off the meth

Let’s just go to single elimination throughout, then. Do or die!

It was silly to have the season be three-game series, tournament ball, tournament ball, tournament ball, and then a single game.

I think it needs to go to best of 5.

Way too many games for college teams where most teams barely have 2 serviceable starting pichers.

No doubt this would still be your opinion if we lose tonight.

None of what you wrote makes sense. If a team loses 2 times before the final they go home.

Your losses before the championship game have never counted against you in the final.

Disagree. Baseball is not designed to be single elimination simply because the most important player is different every day. Imagine playing football but your QB had to rest for 2 games before playing the next one. The teams design their roster for a 3 game series, therefore that’s what the championship should be.

I do wish they would have a longer break between the brackets and the finals. I wanna see best on best for a championship, not a depleted pitching staff if the if necessary games are played (I know it’s not an issue this year, but that’s not always the case) and just a battle of attrition. I know it would never happen, the fans can’t be expected to go home and come back, but that’s would be my perfect world.

That’s the type of bandwagoners popping out when baseball makes the finals. Have no clue about the sport

The problem with that is that fans are already up there...and 2 days in the middle is already a lot. I agree sometimes it can suck with pitching depending on how your bracket went...but honestly dont think you can drag it out anymore from a fan perspective and players/$$

It always seemed unfair, under the old system, that a team could reach the final game undefeated, and could lose it all to a team that had a loss getting there. The double elimination format was just dropped midstream.

I’d be okay with just keeping it double elimination all the way through. In the loser’s bracket? You can’t lose against an undefeated championship opponent. If you are undefeated going into the championship, then you have to beaten twice. If both are undefeated, then it’s whoever loses twice.

Just keep it double elimination the whole way through.

I would almost be ok expanding to best out of 5. Current format creates situations where your best pitcher may not even pitch in the championship series.

Wouldn’t you get the same intensity if both teams split the first two games and game 3 is it?

Nah, the way it's set up is in line with how you got there which I like. Regional -> Super Regional -> Omaha Brackets (same as Regional format) -> Championship Series (same as Super Regional format)

If one team has a loss going into the championship series and the other is undefeated then the undefeated team already has more rested pitching which is enough of an advantage
