She was discussing this season and upcoming season
Did she say anything specifically about Sa'Myah leaving?

I give her 3 season max before she just calls it quits. Not worth it for these aging legendary coaches anymore
Not sure why you got downvoted on this, but I agree totally. And I wouldn't be shocked if Starkey jumps out in the next year or so.
This isn't the same college basketball that they grew up with. There is no loyalty or commitment with the players. They are just looking for the next check. You spend tons of hours and resources on a kid, teaching them your system and developing them, but for what? So they can leave at a moment's notice for no reason but money?
She is bringing in the #1 freshman class. In the past, you would expect to develop them and by about year 3, they are ready to kick everyone's arse. But now? Who knows if all (or any) of them will still be around by year 3.

Would be nice if more details were given instead of the vague doom and gloom… and mulkey has vented over the portal stuff a lot. She has never particularly cared for it but deals with it. The portal won us a natty just two seasons ago. You can be highly successful if you hit it right
LSU was expecting to hit the portal hard for a while now.
Honestly the only players on current roster that ultimately mattered was Flau’Jae and MK.
Ole Miss basically processed 7 players off their roster and starting from scratch again. Sadly it’s become the environment in college sports these days

Thanks! You think we have any success targeting the big time ones like Serah, Lotson, Miles, etc?

I mean sure. But it’s pretty clear LSU is not on South Carolina’s level at this point
Dude. We won the NC 2 seasons ago. They won it last season.
We made elite 8. They just made final 4. They are literally ONE round better than us at this point.
Your opinion is not based on the actual facts.

LSU will have to beat South Carolina before programs are on the same level
That’s not how it works. Maybe in your head but not in reality.

You probably can’t put the genie back in the bottle that’s NIL.
But I’d wonder if the NCAA could put back in place the “wait out a year before you can play at your new school” on these transfers like they used to. They wouldn’t have to lose a year of eligibility by transferring, but it would force transferring school and player take more time on their decision.
At least that would put the brakes on this runaway train, on both the players and the “plug and play” transfer spots.
I’m probably wrong, but just an idea.

Kim is going to hang on long enough to coach Caroline Bradley. So 5 more years at least..
Posted on 4/1/25 at 10:55 am to supersaints9
Kim Mulkey is already in the HOF as a coach.

Everything that will be brought up is in the past. Like that, and that, and that, and that, and that

If CC doesn’t beat SC. Does LSU win that championship and to your second point this Dawns worst team in nearly 5 years yet she’s at the final 4. Also by the time Dawn retires she will have surpassed Mulkey 4 championships . Look I love Mulkey and I’m not a fan of Dawn but if you take the purple and gold glasses off it’s clear as day that at this point in time it’s Dawn, Geno and everyone else in WBB
