Terrific interview with Mulkey getting emotional over her impending Hall of Fame induction.
It's a reminder of how Jordy made OTB appointment listening and an example the void he left.

Nah

What’s the point in paying her what it takes to go to LSU in a sport that is an annual loss in revenue

Baseball
Basketball
Football

Those are the sports where you pay over the average salary

Either hire Kim, or hire someone who’ll do it for $150,000/yr.

Its about building a winning athletic program Vermillion. We want all LSU athletics to excel. It only helps the University

agree

The same people screaming to hire Mulkey, who would command most likely a record setting contract to pry away from Baylor, won't even watch a wbb on tv much less attend one. Maybe tune in for the championship game if it's convenient.

Women’s basketball has no positive impact on the athletic department

It’s a drain. The only thing you can do to not allow it to hurt worse is to not overpay for a coach

What positive impact has South Carolina’s WBB program had on their athletic department? UCONN?

wasn't that way when Sue Gunter had them as a top power. Hell the women were drawing more than the men sometimes.

Agree w the poster:

"either pay her or get someone to do it for $150,000"

True words!

Kind of my thought as well

Either a grand slam hire that makes us contenders in a few years, thus worth the money or a young, up and comer with a ton of energy that is cheap as frick.

But I admittedly don't know much about the WBB coaching landscape.

Yes, it was. Even during its peak run in the early-mid 2000s wbb still lost money every year. Like just about every other wbb program.

UConn sees a lot of national publicity for their program. That's a net positive in terms of enrollment/endowment. I'm not saying LSU WBB can have that impact when we have other sports to hold that mantle, but it's not a good argument for you.
