a woman who's never done anything aside from being a basketball coach her entire life

she was a fabulous point guard on a national champ team at La Tech.
She is the first person in NCAA history to win a basketball national championship as a player, assistant coach, and head coach.
and she has apparently recovered from cancer.

those are some big things aside from being a basketball coach.

I doubt she would be interested. She will coach until she can't, and then be at home.

yes, those are admirable accomplishments.

And none of them are skill sets required of an AD. Coaching is the closest, at least a coach leads a team and a program.

But leading a 15 person roster isn't quite the same as being responsible for the athletic program at a big-time school like LSU. Completely different job requiring completely different skill sets.

But she's originally from LA, so let's hire her.

and that's the problem with Miles and Mainieri. They were both shitty hires by Bertman

Holy Rantardedness. Dude hires two guys who win national titles and they are shitty hires. Save the "he won with Saban's players" bullshite. I guess Mainieri won with Laval's players too...but that doesn't fit your argument.

By your definition, ANY hire made after Saban would have been a shitty hire. God bless poor Skip for not having a crystal ball and envisioning that Miles would only win about 75% of his games as coach over 11 years. That is really shitty.

Go root for Alabama if you aren't happy with what LSU has to offer.

Precisely why she should not get the job.

You might be onto something. Dr. Shaquille O'Neal. Doesn't sound as crazy as some might think. I'd approve.

Knew her during her days at LA Tech. Thought at the time she would go straight into administration. Extremely intelligent, meticulous, and cared little about being the most popular person on campus. Highly critical and never satisfied. Doesnt suffer fools lightly. A lot like Leon Barmore, who could also be compared to Bobby Knight or Nick Saban. If Mulkey wanted to be an athletic director, she'd be dang good at it.
