Kudos, young man!

Clearly the staff has a great deal of confidence in him to put that much resposibility on his plate. Hope he has a monster day.

Geaux Tigers!

Kind of shocked it's not TJ. From reports it was a surprisingly close battle between him and Weeks

But maybe Blake is rewarding his dedication and also has the years of experience with him

Agreed. On all fronts.

Keys is a thumper. I think he's going to win the hearts of a lot of Tiger fans these next 5 weeks (or however long Weeks is out)...

And likely a precurser to what we will see next year. Throwing the young man into the fire, but they clearly feel he can handle it. Kiddos and congrats to him.

Nice!

Love his instincts and speed. He's faster that Whit, maybe just not as polished in some other areas but I see no drop offs when he's in the game

Maybe a drop-off in coverage

I think the only real knock on him (last year) was he was a liability in coverage.

I know it's not a large sample size but he looked like he was playing fast last week vs ATM.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he continues to show us he's improved in that regard. TBD!

Keys played well last year. The guy is still young and improving. He will be a monster next year with this extra time using the green dot.

Keys gives you some benefit in run stopping but you can’t replicate Whit’s all around athleticism and length. Whit is also great as a pass rusher and that makes it hard for offensive lines to call out a Mike lb when whit or Dottery could be coming. We definitely loses a bit with whit not being on the field but I don’t think it will be near the drop off like we saw last year.

Keys was 2nd last year in the conference in tackles behind Dottery lol. Hes not getting thrown into any fire. Dude has plenty of playing experience.

Keys has already played a lot this year and last year. He has played good in spots. I think this is to give him confidence.

Weeks is so unlucky with injuries. He has been hurt 3 years in a row with a major injury. He got hurt in the bowl game if people remember. Didn't he have the same injury then as he does now? His legs hate him.

Based on kiffins comments, this game is for resting some guys and developing depth on the roster so I wouldn’t be surprised if this move is due to Dottery likely not playing or not playing much and to develop Keys and other young linebackers against a weaker team. Would like to see some Zach Weeks out there as well.

The #1 and #3 leading tacklers in the SEC last year are now side by side in BR..

Strap up!

Maybe this still allows TJ to play more freely and doesn’t affect his rhythm.

TJ has played much better without the green dot this year IMO. Allows him to just play freely

Keys is a good player, people still judge him off his freshman year it seems

This is shockingly inaccurate.

I like Keys. He is absolutely not faster than Whit. He is a more polished linebacker who does not have near the speed/agility/hip mobility/coverage ability that Whit has.

If Keys misses an assignment, he has not shown he has the athletic ability to make up for the mistake. Whit has. Whit fricks up assignments all the time but he can make it up with his athleticism.
