You think advising him NOT to run a slower time now, when he'll have an opportunity to run a better time later is costing him millions of dollars??? Wow !!!

3-cone drill is the most important drill for edge rushers.

This. Now if a player has a poor 3 cone performance plus a poor 40 time, now that raises all kinds of red flags. For example, Terrell Suggs ran a 4.88 40 yard dash but had a 4.33 in the 3 cone drill. The 3 cone drill shows a player's burst, quickness & ability to change direction which is important to pass rushers.

I'm pretty sure you missed the point ! Keys' bizarre behavior over the past 1 1/2 years, is truly puzzling. He "disappears" for months at a time with NO explanation, comes back at the last second and is totally out of shape,"plays" like he's totally dis-interested...out AGAIN with an "injury"....shall I go on ?
Whoever is "advising" him that ONE year of superb play = 1st rounder $, is doing a piss poor job !

His recent on/off field "performance" tells us virtually EVERYTHING we need to know...does it not ? Please tell us the inside story of this incredibly talented players' fall, from his former 'elite' status...

IF, the 'rehab' people knew where he was and assuming they're advising him and looking out for his and the teams' best interests...just HOW is it that when he finally reappeared, he came back in such poor shape ? Something is missing here, don't you agree ?
At any rate, I hope he finally gets his act together and does well going forward ! The fact that he has 'cost' his LSU team mates and himself, is most obvious.

What? By not running at the combine?

His biggest question mark was his weight and he came to Indy in shape and slender.

I don't think his 40 will mean much. Watch his sophomore film and it's evident the speed he has for an OLB.

oh really?

You go to school

You have the perfect job in mind that you want after school

You know the interview questions, but it is not the job of the professor to help you prepare for that job application process.

Nope. That makes zero sense to me.

I guess he's saving it for LSU's pro day, but still not a wise decision, he's down to his playing weight now of 240 so he should have posted a good time. So, with his not so impressive final season at LSU and now this I'm sure the execs are questioning Key's desire at this point.

No explanation to the public and he does not have to explain himself to EVERYONE.

"“I tell ’em the real,” he said of his meetings with NFL teams. “I tell them that was my biggest adversity. I went through it and I passed it, and I’m looking forward.”

Key said that teams have been receptive to his explanation.

“They respond in a good way,” Key said. “I surprised a lot of them. ‘Cause a lot of them don’t know what happened. I tell them what happened. I tell them what I played a part in, and they’re surprised. They’re blown away.”

I took the OP to mean his current agent - which he now has since he is going pro.

When he was attending LSU he did not have a paid advisor/agent. Even if he did have one, since no one knows what he went through there would be no way to judge whether they did a good job or not.

This is just another case of "LSU fans" doing what they are best at - HATING.

I don't care, man, Nfl people are fickle, they place more stock in events like this then some schools pro day. I just hope he blows it up at LSU pro day.

Shea tweet

Arden Key tells the @NFLNetwork that the right knee injury he suffered this year is the reason he's not ready to run the 40-yard dash today. Key said he will run the 40 at #LSU Pro Day. Will participate in all other drills today at the combine.
